Important & urgent : My web designer as gone AWOL need help accessing my site

INTERNET MARKETING

Hi,

I've lost all communications with my web designer on a project:

My offline prospect wants to see the project but I can't show it.

Objective :I need to see what work has been done so far.

Target: Site is inception.im

Problem: I do not know how to remove index page so I can display the site normaly.

Urgency: need to update prospect by tomorow

Importance: Second potential Offline client!!! New income stream.

Resources: Have cpanel access

Rewards: appropriate fee + will click the thanks button until finger bleeds

It seems like all your webdesigner done was replace the index file with this "Maintenance" index.

Do you have your current index file of the main page buddy?

If so do you also have an FTP software i.e. FileZilla?

If you have cpanel access with the login and password, you should be good to go. I'm a little confused as to why you would want to remove the index page. Do you have another index page to replace it with, because you do need an index page for the site to come up.

Sbucciarel has kindly offered to look at it....

Obviously if one knows what one is doing it all appears so simple....

Just need WP to display as intended...I am sure the proper index page in the right place will do the trick and when you don't know , are mightily pissed off and under deadlines , then forgive me for asking for help....

I am sure we will all have a laugh after this is over... Looking forward to write my review of this service provider.

Did he give you the Wordpress login for this? If not, I can create a new login in the database. Just let me know. Looks like the maintenance mode thing is a plugin.

It does just sound like a simple case of accessing your server using an FTP. Replacing the "Maintenance" index page with the index that you should have a copy of, of your main page.

Fixed it and pm'd you. Changed the wp-admin password and login and deactivated the Maintenance Mode plugin so site comes up now.

Thanks for all who contributed and Suzanne for actually fixing it.

Now that I have access , nice to know that I have paid a small fortune for what looks like a dog's breakfast...Let's see if I improve on it.

@sbucciarel how can you survive on dial up? I know that I would have gone crazy a looooong time ago if I was still using dial up :p

I did go crazy a long time ago.

But I'm in the country and fired HughesNet for non-delivery and incompetence,so it's the only choice I have right now. Needless to say, I outsource a lot of uploading and downloading.

I see.It's always good to go crazy sometimes.Well the life in the country isn't as bad as that here in my little island

Looking at the brightside.Now you always know if your sites take a long time to load for people with dial up :p

@hagel...Thx for butting in, you are right...Hardindex should have been more circumspect in his intervention, however , he is forgiven as he is currently producing some truly outstanding work on a WSO I bought from him, he is showing a very high level of care and communication for a fraction and I mean a fraction of the price than I paid for this current mess. In this communication he was worried that he'd messed up something.

@hardindex...Hey you know what I mean!

Your work is certainly not called into questions, relax....No! don't relax...work harder on my project!

@sbuccariel...I have thanked you already but let me reiterate how grateful I am that you just went in and sorted things out for me. Having said that , I think I am going to go back and re-enable the maintenance mode, can't bear to display this ugly mess!

, I will come and grab some niche of yours soon but not right now as I have way too many projects going on at once...
