I need help with a niche/website...im stuck!

Usually when I write a thread, its a mile long so Im gonna get straight to the point.

I've been researching IM and web site building for way too long and haven't started ANYTHING at all. Two weeks ago I came up with an outstanding idea for a niche/website. This "niche" happens to have little competiton and was also featured in google trends for a few weeks.

I didnt do enough preparation or strategizing so the plan failed. If you guys only knew how many ideas a day I come up with for a website, just to do research later and find out that it has too much competition or an audience too small to bring in a profit. Im not picky about what niche i want or whatever, I just simply love to build websites.

I have very little time to do anything online because I work 56-66 hours a week and this pregnancy is very stressful also......very! My baby will be here in 5 months and by that time I really wont have time to do anything!

Does anybody have any ideas on what I can do? I know its something I should figure out on my own, but I love to hear other's point of views and ideas. I'd appreciate it if you could help me out a little.

Thanks guys!

P.S. The baby is kicking now! And next week I find out if it's a boy or girl! :p

This is the best advice I can give you....

    The niche doesn't matter!

Seriously. If you go to any site like ClickBank or PayDotCom.com or any of the CPA sites, just pick something that is already selling and out perform your competition when it comes to research.

Dig a little deeper for keywords....

Dig a little deeper for content ideas...

Dig a little deeper for ways to spin the niche...

It works, period. I have gotten involved in some very competitive niches and been able to turn a profit in only a couple of days just by being more prepared than a majority of the other people in the niche.

Alternatively, if you really like building websites, why not make a couple templates and try to sell them, from what you said, it sounds like you know what your doing there, so you could put some money in your pocket right away

There is so much money out here for all of us to make that it is ridiculous! The people that are going to make money today though are the ones that sell something today

Continue to write with style and keep in mind your final goal... don't let competitors get in your way .... Anyway that's how Coke handle it

Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

    Hi

Why not start a website for pregnant mums and dads - don't forget dad is an expectant father as well. Congrats by the way.

You can write a blog of all your highs and lows and carry on with it after the birth.

Get some products from clickbank or affiliate sites and promote their products to make money.

Write articles and submit to Ezine Articles and a few other directories, post comments on related blogs and this will help get traffic to your site.

The thing is to just start doing SOMETHING. Don't wait until you've read everything and learnt everything before you start. You will learn far more as you work on it. You'll make mistakes and find better ways of doing things but that's part of the process and helps you learn quicker.

You've got the answer to your niche kicking you in the stomach and probably shouting at you :-)

Now, start looking at the competition, chose a niche, get your keywords and start work!

    Best wishes

    Mary

Anything to do with pregnancy, new mothers, dealing with raising kids. Why? Because you can blog about it everyday as it happens. The people will learn first hand what it's like from someone who really is doing it!

You can also learn lots and then pass (or should I say sell) that on to other expecting mums.

It literally is right under your nose!

    P.S

There's plenty of PLR eBooks around on these sorts of things to give you a good "birth" into this niche (symbol crash, pun delivered...)

    Hey there!!

I'm pregnant too (still!), so I feel your pain. I can't even imagine working a "real outside-the-house job" while I was pregnant.

My advice is to try to set a small goal that you can work on every day. Maybe this is something like:
    *build one page
    *do KW research
    *work one hour

And so on. I know that my problem is that I always set goals that are too daunting and then I don't follow through. Small goals work better.

If you don't get around to it... Well, the world didn't just end, KWIM? You have to take your health and the baby's health into consideration as well.

    Love,
    Shannon

Mary was spot on when she said
"The thing is to just start doing SOMETHING. Don't wait until you've read everything and learnt everything before you start. You will learn far more as you work on it. You'll make mistakes and find better ways of doing things but that's part of the process and helps you learn quicker."

By the time you really learn about it, "IT" will have changed.

My first question is what is your passion and what do you like reading about?

Once you determine what you are passionate about, start blogging about it.

I also get ideas all the time but simply do not have the time to develop the niche and follow through.

Maybe this forum can set up a special group where thinkers and doers can share ideas and work together...

I registered a name over a year ago as I noticed a report televised on CNN talking about the "LACK" of "Color In Fashion". They were talking about how all the fashion magazines were catering to "white" models and well you can take it from there...I saw the handwriting on the wall and registered the name ColorInFashion.com...did nothing with it but now with our new president elect, where do you think the fashion industry is headed? The internet has already begun showcasing Michelle's wardrobe and it looks like a huge opportunity for a fashion BLOG...

Contact me if you want to discuss this more...

There is no such thing as too much competition

It sounds like you need focus. Pick a niche even if the competition is high and work at it. Don't reside yourself to the fact that the competition is too high before you've even given it a good run. Its possible to make good money in very saturated markets quite easily.

Try to sell your services as Jeremy said. Start up a WSO and get some cash flow going.

    Good Luck

Jeremy and Nick, great advice guys.

Yeah seriousley, aslong as people are buying and you can grasp even a handful of the markets potential visitors through content, you'll make sales.

I targeted the stock market literally before it went into meltdown, It continues to now, had a record sales day today

Just pick something that interests you, write about it, submit to EZA, make sure your landing page looks and reads fantastically well (squidoo is great) and you're away

Best of luck with this! and with the pregnancy
