About to set up first Blog. Quick advice?

Hi people,

Thanks if anyone can help.

I am about to set up my first blog and I was going to use wordpress and try to get a template somewhere.

Then I found info about microsofts new blogging service.

If anyone who already blogs would be willing to say what service they use or if there is a no-brainer choice or any other suggestions, I would be very grateful.

I'm cool with the process of setting it up, just don't know the "best" one to use.

    I highly recommend Wordpress, as I'm sure most other people will. It gives you the most flexible and solid platform.

    Better question, have you identified your niche? That's a lot more important than the technology.

      Here man, just thought you might want a heads-up that your signature link has a mistake in it of a backwards slash and its not linking to your page.
      There was me trying to get some tips from you too.

        There are Tons of Great Plug-ins and Lots of Users => support for WordPress!

    Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

    Wordpress for sure. You can change your theme any time you choose (ie seasons etc) without any problems and there are hundreds of useful plug ins.

    Obviously you're going with Wordpress

    What I'd recommend are a few key plugins with wordpress:

    All in One SEO (to optimize the blog for search engines)
    Akismet (to kill spam comments before they kill you!)
    cForms (to allow people to contact you via a webform)
    aLinks (to have auto-hyperlinks for certain keywords you specify... you gotta see it to believe it).

    Just do a quick Google search and you'll find these plugins fast.
