looking for wordpress themes, any suggestions?

INTERNET MARKETING

hey guys,

Im looking for a decent site which has free wordpress themes.

A site which has uploads often by various designers, and different categories of themes etc. I know these places exist but the big "G" throws out wayyyy to many options, anyone have any experience in any particular site?

Also themes which are easy to edit,meaning nice easy text widgets above and below posts and choice between number of sidebars and placement.

Do I seem picky?? lol

  whichever Theme you pick, Andy ...
  
  I would Highly Recommend that you Test how it looks / displays in All the different Types and Versions of Browsers people are currently using, e.g. IE6, IE7, Firefox, Safari, etc. (what others?) to make sure Everything "looks and feels" right in All of these, ok?
  
  otherwise you may have some unpleasant surprises in how some of these work / display your site/Theme , you know?

What kind of theme are you looking for? Something with all the bells and whistles or something simple? Are you looking for something mainly as a niche marketing site or a flagship blog?

Andy, free isn't always the way to go... If you do not mind to have at least one outbound link towards the author's site (sometimes even two such links), plus the copyright information in your footer, then it is OK.
On the other side, you can check www.templatemonster.com and take a look to the paid templates, which, by the way, are not so expensive. If you would like to have my affiliate link, PM me.

  @TheVCF -I know exactly what you mean, I have had some nightmares getting CSS to look right in IE compared to FF, I will certainly check them across platforms.
  
  @sannyman - Its not my main site/blog for that I do purchase premium templates or have them made, what Im doing is a number of niche sites for the purpose of promoting and selling in around 6 months, so for that I need editable niche templates on a variety of different themes.
  
  @bgmacaw - thanks Ill check them out

Do a search for blogs and then look at the footer and most of the time it will tell you "Blog Theme by..."

You'll get plenty of ideas...

Hi Andy,

Personally I feel whatever the themes you choose, it should:

1. suit your niche
2. easy for readers to navigate
3. easy for the eyes to read the text (normally white background with black or dark grey text is helpful.)

There will be a few times we need to adjust the themes along the way even to the extent of having the header image redesign to make our theme look more professional.

My suggestion is the Flexibility Theme - Flexibility Theme for WordPress

I came across it a month or 2 ago (thanks to another Warrior ) and after years of searching through the free wordpress theme sites on the net & using whatever I could find, I personally think it's far better than anything else out there.

Virtually every aspect of it can be customised quite easily - plenty of sidebar choices, various widgets, Adsense, heaps of different graphics (search boxes, headers, RSS Icons, backgrounds).

  I definitely think it is . It took me an hour or so to figure out how it works (& I only have a very basic knowledge of php/editing wordpress themes), but now I've got a pretty good grasp of it & I'm very happy with it! It's really simple to edit the layout/graphics once you've got it figured out.

There are hundred of places to find free WP themes and you can also hire a Designer and Coder for A unique Wp theme which may cost you less then 500$...if you are not satisfied with any free theme
