Spam from customers?!?!

Hey Warriors,

As of lately, I've been getting spam emails from customers and subscribers. I get a one-liner email with a dubious link (links to free wordpress of blogger blogs), no subject message and being forwarded to other people too.

These are guys with whom I've had email conversations before, and it's like someone was using their email account to spam.

I wonder whether my email has been breached with a virus or something?

TIA!

Use spamassassin and box trapper if the spam count is more.

Bet: The majority, if not all, are from AOL or Hotmail accounts.

The accounts that have been hacked are theirs. This has been going on for years.

Most likely someone has a virus on their computer that is sending out emails and putting contacts from that computer as the reply to: field to make it look legitimate.

I've noticed this with many of my hotmail contacts randomly sending me emails that they obviously didn't write, I usually let them know then delete the spam mail.

      Automated email from client accounts?

      Pooh!!

Forget a client account - I have one of my main business unit's emails sending some weird responses with God-knows-what content and God-knows-how - sometimes I get bounce messages (at least, messages that look like bounce messages but I have not inspected the email mime body carefully enough - they are in all reality bounces though) which is how I even came to know of it.

To add to this, I have no clue how to fix it too !!
