What do you know about Online giveaways?

Hey All,

I've heard that online giveaways can be a great source for building your list, not only for yourself, but to an even greater extent for the person(s) conducting them.

If you have experience with them, what's your take on them and what suggestions, if any, might you have for those of us who have yet to partake?

Any advice at all would be greatly appreciated.

    It is a good way to start to build a list - that's what I did with my very first list.

    However, there is a danger: most of them are just freebie-seekers and will opt out when you send them the first offer. Even if it is absolutely related to the topic of the list, even if it is only half-price or less...

    Try to use it with an OTO or other kind of backend sale - it can act as a 'filter': who's a buyer, who's just after free download
