Yahoo Rank: 8 vs Google: Not in Top 100....

Hey,

Just thought I would post up some interesting results I got from a recent site I just put up. It's an affiliate site with the domain an exact keyword which I found that has tons of traffic but no competition

Anyways I just finished the site 3 days ago and bookmarked it about 2 days ago, and to my surprise my Google analytics is reporting this:



I think it's kind of funny that my brand new site is ranking 8th for the keyword on Yahoo, but isn't even in the top 100 for the keyword in Google.

The site has gotten about 107 hits as of writing this, and unfortunately no sales but who cares, I've done literally nothing except write the articles and bookmark the site a couple times. Just goes to show you that it's not "all about Google".

    They are two different search engines, with completely different ranking algorithms...

    Many people will argue with you that you are not trying hard enough to get ranked in Google, and that Google is the only search engine that is really important -- they say that because they only use Google to search...

    But it does not really matter what other marketers think about your search rankings... The better approach is to rank well, where your customers are trying to find you...

    If your Yahoo traffic is converting, then you are light years ahead of most of the people who call WF home... LOL

    I honestly NEVER use yahoo to do any searching, but oddly enough thats all my parents use.

    Clearly people use it, and people are using it to find the problem that my site aims to fix, but it hasnt been converting yet. Hopefully I can keep the first page for that keyword.

    Also, I know I havent done anything to rank for it in google. I probably am going to have to do TONS more to rank for it in google, which is the reason why I made this thread. I did nothing and im on the front page for a keyword in yahoo. I know its not used by as many people, but it's still used.

        Yabing loves keywords in domain and keyword anchor combos.

        I got one site in number one spot on yabing that is on page 10+ on G.
