Anyone else seeing their emails hit Gmails Junk folder all of a sudden?

Has anyone else noticed that emails sent from their domain are suddenly landing in Gmail's Junk folder?

I'm not talking about mailing list emails, but emails coming directly from your server, such as forum notifications, helpdesk notifications, etc.

I've had a few people with this problem now, and apart from getting people to click the "This is not spam" button, I'm not sure how else to solve it.

I've had a look at Gmail's instructions for this, but it's more to do with Bulk mail, not simply notification emails.

cheers
Sam

    Hi Sam,

I sent out a couple of emails to small customer lists
from my own servers today and received reports
that the emails were hitting the spam folder.

Could be a change in the Gmail filters

    Yeah me too.

For some reason though, mine have started hitting my inbox again.

I've been hitting "not spam" over the past month probably like about 1200 times, easily, from my support tickets and notifications, etc.

Only Spam in mine that I can tell -- in fact I still get a lot of stuff that I mark as spam in my inbox (of course I request removal first -- there's just a couple I can't seem to shake) :-/

Haven't noticed this problem yet... Hopefully gmail's filters can straighten themselves out.

    • I have noticed the reverse recently,
spam showing up in the inbox.
I always liked Gmail for the fact
      that it filtered so well.
Recently it seems kind of confused.

Well it's good to hear I'm not alone

Hopefully they are just doing some tweaking, and things will settle shortly.

Meanwhile I've had to put a notice in my forum and on the helpdesk login page.

    cheers

Google just updated Gmail yesterday. Maybe that had something to do with it.

I noticed that if I get multiple emails from the same address in the same day, they tended to go to the junk folder. Including emails with my own gmail address as the sender. It seems to be resolving itself now though.

Sam, it happens now and again, and I find it strange that when it does happen, most emails are in the spam folder including my google alerts.
