Website Design for Local SEO Biz

Hi,

There has been a lot of buzz regarding marketing courses to get a piece of the huge local SEO market.

I believe that there is a great deal of opportunity although I think it is more competitive now that everyone and their brother thinks they can make a fortune calling on a local biz and then having no real idea how to actually provide them with the "goods".

I having very strong resources in terms of providing these businesses with a very cost effective SEO package (actually multiple pkgs). My problem is that I am not very strong in website design and want to present potential clients with an attractive and effective website which describes my company, its services, pkgs, pricing, free website evaluation signup, and possibly order buttons. Whew!

I've tried to build something with Wordpress but what I've found is that Wordpress is great for a blog but it really isn't designed to be a website. I've tried all kinds of techniques to "de Wordpress" the site but it's not the same.

So without spending much money (ie a really smalllllll am't), can anyone suggest good resources I can turn to to get an attractive website designed and optimized for these purposes?

If I call on customers and provide them with a nice sell sheet, they are still going to want to see a website of mine. I would look pretty lame if I didn't have something very attractive and effective to direct them to.

So Warriors I'd appreciate your recommendations and advice.

Thanks!

This is PERFECT! I say this because this is one of those things you DON'T have to be good at, but simply understand. Web design is about the easiest thing to outsource and is VERY economical.

Ask yourself this: How many other prospects can you close with 10-25 hours of free time, that would otherwise have you locked down in front of your computer? I have outsourced beautiful, full CSS websites designed for small businesses for as low as $80!!!

If you are good at local SEO, then concentrate on that - SELL THAT. Make a few contacts on elance for your web design and send that part of the work out. Think like a contractor, because web design - especially if it is not your natural gift can be tedious and very time consuming. You will more than likely end up frustrating yourself all the way OUT of business because of the time and stress of doing something you should't be doing anyway.

Sell your prospects a package that includes web design, and then just supervise the process, while concentrating on your talents. The initial deposit you get from your sale will easily cover the full cost of web design - outsourced. You just oversee the process, cutting your time down to just a few minutes for that aspect, rather than hours and hours that you could be selling and SEOing.

Since you also seem to need a website for your own business, this would be a great place to start with making contacts and learning the process of outsourcing web design as well.

Best of luck with your business.

You can hire freelancers from freelancing sites. Web design can be outsourced cheaply to other countries.

Actually Wordpress is perfect for what you want. You simply run it as a cms rather than a blog and then use the blogging system to target your products and services.

PM me and I can show you what we do.

Google "open source web design" and you'll find a variety of sites featuring the work of some pretty sharp designers.

Open Source Web Design - Download free web design templates. is one of the oldest and most extensive.

Start with their template and plug in your content. If you want to use WordPress, you can convert your chosen template to a WP theme.

Istvan Horvath - Blog has a free tutorial on converting plain html templates to WP themes.

    Completely disagree with this.

Wordpress can accomplish nearly anything you want.
