Is a 9.4% Conversion rate proof of concept?

I just launched a Social Media website three days ago and right now with a home page only 50% complete we are getting 9.4% of our traffic to create a full profile on our site. Im wondering if i can consider this "Proof of Concept" as the platform is completly unique and the first of its kind. We have also got a lot of very positive emails regarding the concept from people who have contacted us to leave feedback. Im thinking that when the home page is completely optimized to convert we could see our rate go up to 22-26% conversions to members. Is this standard for a social media website or do you think were on to something? Just curious... we have 300+ Members who have joined now and 32% of those come back to the site 4 or more times since the first visit. Interested in your feedback! Thanks

    Guess it depends ...

Are they allowed to leave anchor text backlinks in their profiles or signatures?
