Is your wealth directly proportional to your health?

Do you have to be fit, both in mind and body, to really be successful in business?

If the answer is YES. Do you get fitter the more the earn? Or is it that the more you earn the fitter you become?

The answer to that is a resounding no. In mind, yes.in body, no. An overweight and out of shape person that I know went from starting up a business in small flat with just an idea and not much else, except a brain and an idea. He is now worth over $200 million dollars.
What it comes down to I guess is if you are interested in getting fit or not. the more I make the more time I have to get fit. If I use it for that it is a different matter. I run a lot and use the time I go running to think up new ideas and strategies.

        Mark,

I suppose we have to consider whether a healthy body contributes to a healthier mind. Many would say so.

Whilst it's not impossible to become extremely wealthy even when morbidly obese, for example, I wonder how much more your mind could be 'in tune' if your body was fit?

        Interesting.

Interesting question. I'm getting into earning online because I have ME. When I'm well I'm out and about doing things. When I'm not so good I have plenty of time to spend online!!

Right now I'm laid up with a bug which seems to have got into my glands. I feel ghastly. It's work online or watch daytime TV.

On the other hand - I'm not the most successful online earner. But since I got serious in February my uniques have gone from 150 per month to nearly 150 per day. Just got to work on monetising that.

I wouldn't say it is directly proportionate, but it is linked for sure...

Maybe an increased income gives you more free time to get fit?... but I know that since I embarked on a strict regime.. my business has grown because I have more energy, more enthusiasm, more control, more focus, more drive... and I was quite the energetic spring before hand...

I'd say the two are most definitely connected in some way

    Peace

I'm pretty fit and I believe it gives me the hyper energy I have (Just ask James Allen. He goes home exhausted and has to recuperate for a week after doing a few days with me).

When I go to the gym or for a good striding walk, it always fills me with ideas. It's all that oxygenated blood pumping around and feeding the grey cells.

    EDIT: Forgot the second question.

I don't think I am any fitter than when I was building houses and only using my brain at 3/4 throttle. Now, I'm definitely making more than then (esp as the real estate market started crashing here in 1998), but not running up and down ladders, I'm not as wiry fit as I was then.

Also, the more money I make, the more we go out to fancy restaurants.

    I don't think that it's a prerequisite to success. I know
lots of people who are not in the healthiest of states
and yet have the spirit and self belief to achieve success.

For me it's all about belief. If you believe in yourself and
your potential then you can overcome any barrier, even
    ill health.

    My answer is: Yes.
Second answer: I think it depends from person-what is more important to this person (be fit and healthy so that he can earn, or firstly earn a lot of money and then spend it to get fitter).

Yeah, that Stephen Hawking has a really sick mind.

      Good answer Mike.

Steven Hawking is exceptional, but you certainly make a valid point.

I know it's not essential to be fit to be successful but, speaking for myself, when I'm unfit and feel unhealthy, I feel less inclined to chase my dreams.

Ever notice that people who spend money on WSO, memberships and courses, are always complaining about being broke and not making any money ?

They should have bought ASSETS instead.

I'd say to some extent, yes.. When you're in pursuit of a goal, it's best to be in your best condition. Yeah I think they're somehow correlated..

I don't think health=wealth, but I could see where having more wealth could improve your health.

At the very least, your stress level would go down and help your health.
