do you convert them later once theyre in your sales funnell?

the obvious answer would be a little of both. but what im really trying to find out is, if its possible to convert sales right at the sales page rather than building a list.

the reason: its faster & less work. but from everything ive heard, that's typically not how things work with I.M.

thanks in advance,

john

  • Why would you make a sales page that didn't convert? Think about what you are saying.

Lists are great. But if you are truly in this to make money you are trying to convert at ever step.

    Close, close, close.

If you have a massively superior product/offering AND you have vast copywriting skills, then you can get good results directly from a sales page.

However, if you're human (like the rest of us) you'll do a LOT better by building a list and forming a relationship with your potential customers.

Either method takes hard work. Both require study, application and implementation. Experienced and successful IM people always smile when we see folks trying to cut corners because it is 'less work'.

If it was that easy wouldn't everyone be successful?

yes, i'm managing to achieve that but we're doing two things, we have an optin right in the middle of the web page that gets about 20 percent of visitors opting into and then the sales page is converting very well itself.

we also have an exit popup as well.

You're right to think about conversions more than traffic. The better you get every part of your marketing converting, the less pressure on your need for traffic. Most people get that exactly backwards.

Good stuff guys. I say the list is the most important. Cause think about it if a sales guy comes to your door and wants you to buy it gets annoying, but when you get something saying hey free ice cream by just putting in your email. Selling is not like the old days. It's all about teaching.
