A Question To Internet Marketers In The Philippines.

Hello guys.

I'm Alfonso and I'm from the Philippines. I'm into niche marketing promoting ClickBank products. Last August, I earned my first commission but I haven't received the check because I still have to fulfill CB's distribution requirements.

Now, I'm still a newbie at this and I haven't registered with the B.I.R. yet. How does the whole B.I.R. registration and paying taxes work in our country? I know there will be a number of you that will tell me to consult a lawyer or an accountant but as a newbie still navigating in this make money online game, I need your input, fellow kababayans.

Please help me. Thanks.

Tax laws in our country basically requires the B.I.R. to collect taxes from us through income tax.

The B.I.R. has the right to deduct about 32% of our income earned within and outside the Philippines (though, there are exceptions) if you are single and doesn't have dependents. The tax rate decreases if you are married and have children. This applies also if you are a "head of the family" even if you're not yet married.

I'm not sure about the specific rates of the taxes imposed per income category but you don't need a lawyer to know this. You can ask directly from the B.I.R. employees or a law student on the rates.

It's not fairly easy for the B.I.R. to determine the total income earned by internet marketers as their system is not yet automated as regards to online transactions. It is thus required that we be transparent and honest in filing our income tax returns for this is where the B.I.R will base the income tax deductible from us.

So you're from Ormoc City, right? Dili lang diay ka layo diri sa amoa ky taga Tacloban City ko. It's nice to know nga naay taga Leyte pud diri sa Warrior Forum.

Taxes will depend on different factors such as:

Type of business registered, i.e. sole, corporation etc..
    Income category
    Marital Status and Dependents
    etc...

No need to ask a lawyer just go to a local accounting firm and ask for their services or consultation it's cheaper than you think.

    cheers
