Where to Market to Parents of Children & Toddlers?

Hiho Warriors,

I'm promoting a program and book for parents. It's to help them understand how to develop good behavior in their children.

Wondering: where to reach these people?

Parenting Magazines...

Parenting forums... maybe... thing is I'm no expert on it (not even a parent... 'tho I am an uncle and have cared for and get on well with kids).

Newpaper classifieds?

Any other good places come to mind?

I'm thinking I'm probably missing some good online opportunities (... not interested in PPC right now tho'... tired of trying to make that work (for now, at least).)

Appreciate your help!

- Scott

There are lots of "mommy and me" groups, strolling moms groups, library readings, etc... all would be good to target.

    Hi Scott,

Target media buys on places such as iVillage.com (formerly women.com) and Facebook. These will allow you drill down to your target market.

    Hope this helps.

    Scott,
Maybe home schooling families/forums/magazines? They already have an interest in teaching their children... :-)

    Best,

Using the targeting on Facebook seems like an obvious choice to me...

I think facebook would be the first logical choice.. I know TONS of women who use it obsessively... plus if they just had a kid, they'll be home all day, some of that time they'll be on the computer.

  • You seem to be on the right track. Some people have mentioned specialty forums and sites like iVillage. That one is a definite go to on my list. I would also say check places like Gather.com. That site has lots of moms who participate in all sorts of discussions that range anywhere from cooking, to parenting. I am also inclined to recommending pbs.org, disneychannel.com and the likes. Now, I know it may sound weird, particularly because these sites are mainly for children, but precisely that is the reason you should look into it. For example, I sit with my youngest stepdaughter while she is playing games at some of these sites. I also navigate the sites with her. You'd be surprised at how much there is to do for parents and kids alike. So, you may find some sort of advertising program there. I have not looked, but it will not hurt you to try.
