Actually, that's an impossible question to answer. Your ability to rank well for a term will not only depend on the number of links, but stuff like their quality, their relevance, their age etc. Also, what's your competition like? How hard are the peeps on the front page to beat? You might be in luck, because if you're trying to rank for something that does not yet exist it's going to be a much easier job than if you were trying to rank for something that's been out for years. I spend a lot of time writing about new products that come out, and since the site I'm writing for is a few years old and has a good deal of authority, I rank for those terms very easily - sometimes taking the number 1 spot without a single backlink to that page. With products that have been out a while it takes more work of course.

Just build links. If you link too fast it's easier to get sandboxed for a while, but as long as you're not doing anything wrong you'll get out of the sandbox and probably rank better than ever when you do. Are you working on a brand new site?

One of my friends started his blog a year ago and of course kept building backlinks.

Now he has more than 3K+ visitors to his blog and more than 36K+ IMers and makes around $15K+ a month...

That´s a good job of building backlinks

    Focus on 3 basic things:

-Update Content on a regular basis.

    -Use quality keywords

    -Create backlinks

    Good luck.

Keep adding content related to your main key phrase you're trying to rank for and build internal backlinks from the content to the page you want to rank.

Backlinks are important but not everything...

Sometimes just a handful of strategically placed backlinks will do the trick...how's your on page?

my on page? I just bought some backlinks from paul so they aren't related to the product I'm promoting, but its hard to write articles on something not even out yet. How would I go about doing so?

Think about what the product is related to...

If its an info product mention the author or the company that makes the product Microsoft...

Write about past success with similar products...

Try to mimic what others are writing about...those on the first page for your keyword...

Google actually tells you whats relevant just "follow their lead"

      Hope this helps.
