I was trying to register a new google adsense account with a blog made from blogger and google sent this reply to me:

Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. Unfortunately, after

that matches the information on your domain registration.
- Your website must contain substantial, original content.
- Your site must comply with Google AdSense program policies:

They probably weren't very impressed with your site. A lot of Blogger bloggers get turned down nowadays.

Google wants to make as much money off of their Adwords sales as possible. However, a lot of AdSense publishers have been absolute crap, and Google don't want that anymore, so now they've raised the bar a little bit with regards to who gets in. Which I think is fine. After a few years of working with AdSense it has turned out really good for me, so I'm personally in favor of them protecting that stuff as well as they can.

I would say to the contrary. I don't think google is annoyed with webmasters.

If the issue is that the site is a subdomain of blogger, then the issue isn't with the webmaster (because Google is that webmaster).

But on a serious note, Google is just uber protective of their adsense program because they want those of us using Adwords to be happy with the placement and results we get.

It is all one big incestuous circle. You know, there is a reason why when they bought Keyhole years ago they changed the name to Google Earth. They just wanted us to be prepared for when that becomes the official name of our planet.

I am interested in why you are working with blogger. I cannot remember the last time I saw a blogger ranked on the first page ... maybe I am in niches where they are not used.

See it from a visitor's perspective searching in Google. If a blog shows up in the search results hosted on a mass platform, and a site with it's own trustworthy tld (like a .com), where will visitors click on? It will be the trustworthy, laser-targeted domain, not the mass blogger domain.

So get your domain registered, buy hosting, install a blog etc.... Should take you less than 1 hour and you are done. Skipping this step doesn't leave a good impression on Google. Sorry, but that's the way it is.

Use your blogger blogs to backlink to your main (money) site with. That's what they are good for.

I don't see anything in your post that's at all congruent with the thread title. Perhaps you'd care to explain what you mean?

Well, for long time advertisers like myself, I do grow weary sometimes of seeing tons of MFA sites popping up that are low quality yet cut into the dollars I earn as a result of my work over many years.

It is okay to contact me! I have been developing software since 1999, creating many popular products like phpLD.

I actually think it's fine. Good intentions is hardly enough to have a successful website or make any kind of meaningful money with AdSense. If you can't even get a decent site up and running, then you're probably better off getting that sorted out before starting to mess around with AdSense. Most beginners are disappointed with their AdSense income anyway (I know I was) so it'd probably be a lot smarter to focus on other things first, like building a good site and learning to SEO the hell out of it - after all, no search traffic = no point in having AdSense on your site.

I don't think it has anything to do with it being on blogger but probably more with your content on your blog. What do you have on there? Does it not contain contain substantial, original content or perhaps is on a topic that is not appropriate for adsense?

They are getting more cautious every day! I guarantee they will turn the way that ebay did a year ago.
