(another) youtube question...

Is there any way to tell IN ADVANCE if a particular vid will *immediately* accept a vid response (as opposed to a vid that will accept a vid response only AFTER the vid owner *decides* to accept it -- basically "awaiting moderation")?

Reason I'm asking: When I submit a vid as a vid response, if the vid owner will be moderating it, he basically gets to hold my vid "hostage" while he decides to accept it or not. This is forever, if he pays no attention, or purposely pays no attention.

If I could tell in advance if he has it set on "moderate," I could avoid trying to post video responses on vids like that -- and instead only post vid responses on vids that accept vid responses immediately + automatically.

Of course, I COULD just keep track of which vids (of mine) I use for which (other person's vid) -- and just RE-post my vids to other vids + keep trying until I see they are immediately accepted. That's a big bother though.

Is there any way to know BEFORE actually trying to post a vid response on a particualr vid?

Please advise.

Thanks!

Not that I am aware of.

Your video is not hostage to anything here, since you're asking permission to occupy the publisher's internet real estate. If you had a car for sale with a sign in its window, would you just pick the best driveway and park in it for free exposure? No. You would have to knock on some doors and make a win-win deal with the driveway owner. Make sense?

Yes, I realize why you are asking. But the approval process is there so that responses are relevant, and can add to the comment discussion in an intelligent way, not to increase the advertisements around the video.

I sure hope there is not, because that would mean more SPAM maintenance for original publishers.

<<<< Yes, the vid owner CAN "hold my vid hostage" because he is under no obligation to decide yes or no (+ has no time limit to decide) -- so, he can choose the decide NEITHER yes or no. That is, if he does NOTHING (either on purpose or via ignorance or via just not paying attention), my vid response IS (in effect) held hostage (rendered unable to be used as a vid response elsewhere) -- now, yes, I COULD track all my vids + how (+ WHERE) I have used them as a response, and REuse the ones (that are being held "hostage") + TRY them as vid responses on OTHER vids -- but I'm trying avoid such tracking + monitoring (too complicated -- would require "checking back" constantly to see if each vid owner has made up their mind, etc. -- meanwhile, on MY list of MY vids, the "*" looks exactly the same to me (the "*" on my list signifying I have USED a particular vid of mine as a vid response), whether that vid has been decided upon, or not).

<<<< Umm, you're assuming that "advertisements" + "relevant" are mutually exclusive. Not so.

<<<< Actually, the opposite is true. If I could see that a vid requires the owner to approve all vid responses, I would be LESS likely to post a vid response on that vid, thereby making vid owners spend LESS time on what you are calling "spam maintenance," overall -- no?
