250 puzzling backlinks

Hello

I was checking my site home page on yahoo site explorer, which I hadn't done for a while.

I have 780 backlinks, but about 250...yes...250! are from one site.

My niche is bookbinding, I am abookbinder, the site in question is all to do with books, but is the site some sort of blog?

Here is one of my backlinks, I can see where we are listed.

Why do I have 250 backlinks from one site?

If I can do this once by accident, and knew what sort of site it was I was dealing with, I could perhaps do this again intentionaly.

And so of course could other warriors.

    It looks like your site is linked in the sidebar under "Book Care and Repair" on the blog, so you should have a back link from every post page on that blog.

    My impression is that those are a list of links to sites the blogger thinks are useful or interesting, so what you did was create the kind of quality site a webmaster chose to link to voluntarily.

      I had the same thing happen to me on two sites now. From doing a small amount of blog commenting on the same site I ended up on the recent comment list and got about 200 backlinks from one site.

    It's just someone adding you to part of their template - for example if they're running a blog and put you in their 'links' or 'blogroll' section - you get a link from every page of their site.

    I have blogs that show up as 1200 links as soon as I place one in the links section - it's normal.

    It normally happens when your link is found on other sites/blogs default navigation space. There is no harm to get backlinks from such area because you cannot control everything that goes out of your hand. But if you feel annoying as you don't want others to use your links/reputation you can simply mail them to remove your link from their default area.
