How To Make My WP Theme Fit The Screen?

Hi Guys!!

I just uploaded a theme I purchased from website to my worpdress blog but it doesn't exactly stretch across the entire screen horizontally as I would like (as I thought it was going to do but doesn't)

Could someone pls offer some advice on what I can do to stretch my theme so it will fit how I'd like it to?

Here is the example of what I'm working with:

MyBreality.com

The black 'strips' on the left and the right is what I'm looking to remove....just not sure how its done. I'm assuming it involves code?? Which isn't my specialty by any means haha...any advice is most appreciated!

No advice - short of switching to another theme.

All the background in that theme is made up of several images... I don't see how you'd be able to re-design the theme. Use it as it or get another one.

darnnn, that wasn't the answer I was looking for haha..thats a bummer. So my options are either accept it as is or go with another theme..? Well I don't quite know yet I guess I'll have to think about it then..thanks for the response Istvan!

Yes it does include CSS code tweaking to do that and to do that with your current theme needs a lot of background image modification too.

If you're not into codes, I suggest that you get someone from the Warriors For Hire or any other freelance sites to do it for you.

Oh ok so it is possible tho...its just more complicated for lil ol' me to even attempt is what your saying? lol...well I admit I am def. pretty shabby with code, but as long as its possible then thats cool with me. Thanks again for the response

I would def. like to keep the theme because I like it...so now I suppose my question is....say I begin to use my theme as is and add content and widgets to it, etc.

Later down the road once I come up with the money to afford a programmer to help me stretch the theme...will it still be possible then? Or would it be that much more difficult because I have all this stuff added to the blog by that time?

Or should I wait and get it stretched how I'd prefer before I even begin posting anything to it or changing the sidebars in any way?

      Thanks again!!

You don't add ever anything to your THEME when posting content.

If you are using WP at least get a basic underastandign how a database driven dynamic website works:
    - there is the engine = the WP script itself
    - there is the (MySQL) database that holds all your content: posts, Pages, comments, settings
    - there is the layout = design, appearance, look... defined by the theme

If what you said was true nobody could ever switch from one theme to another

Why are you obsessed with that "streching"? How do you know what is the size and resolution of all your visitors to "stretch" it in the way that would fit on everybody's screen? Is there any REAL reason why you want it?

lol way to make me seem totally inept at anything wordpress related On the contrary however I completely understand what your saying and the only reason I'm asking about this is because I'm using a theme that I purchased from a third party source and am not using any of the free themes that wordpress has available. That is my real reason...I'd hate to begin using this theme that I already purchased..then want to modify it later only to find out that I can't unless I lose the content I already have or something. I truly don't know, hence this thread haha. As far as being 'obssessed' about it that just isn't true either. When I made the purchase for this theme template it didn't have those black stripes along either side, I liked it how I bought it but then noticed the black stripes once it was already installed on my blog. I just thought I'd see if it were possible, thats all. I'm not sitting behind my screen flipping out over it or anything lolz. just making innocent conversation/questions.

Thanks for all of your responses however, I have a clearer understanding of what I should do and what I'd like to do with it.

Take care everyone - thanks again.
