How to put text box above blog in Wordpress?

Hey guys,

I have my first wordpress blog set up on a domain name that I own. I have put my first blog down, but, I want to put a text box above that, but, below the header, with an "email me" link in it.

How do I do that? I am using the Wp-ADMIN tool.

    Don't!
You will just screw up your blog.

Since every theme is designed and coded differently, nobody will be able to tell you waht to do.

You can provide a link so somebody can take a closer look at it or you can find a fellow warrior in the Warriors for Hire section to do it for you.

P.S. In a well designed WP theme you can't just add arbitrarily "boxes" wherever you think you should have one. Why not use a simple text widget in the sidebar - that's a good option for novice WP users

Ok - I saw the sidebar, but, don't know how to put a "Email" or a "Contact Me" slot in there.

    Thanks so much!

There are many many youtube videos about how add a widget to your sidebar...
    wp-admin > Appearance: Widgets
    - drag a Text widget to your sidebar - click on it; as it opens add any kind of Title, text (including html code, javascript - no PHP!); save it. Done.
