Is Google Analytics Killing Your Biz?

Imagine this: several domains (many which have the same keyword in the domain with all big three .com+.net+.org extensions) and want to monitor all these domains in one place, which GA gives you a great opportunity.

BUT can it kill your BIZ, because google can "see" that you have several same keyword domains in your account (because you have them all in one place in GA).

It's widely suggested to spread the registering on several registrants and hosting on many hosting / seo-hosting with unique c-class IP's... with that said:

"Do you have all your domains in one place for monitoring (in this case GA)? and How does that affect your SEO work?"

If that's the case, then why not use open source software like
Piwik - Web analytics - Open source

Then you won't have to worry so much about Google.

Google will still know who owns the site and all about the site regardless if you have GA installed or not.

And do they really care? As long as your sites aren't pulling any shady stuff, I would say it's all good.

And if they are using shady tactics, G will still find out regardless of GA.

I noticed that to on a couple sites were coming up the same stats. I did set it up again on my blog and no problems. so it is possible to have the same keyword in there and different stats.

I can see why Google would shut down a duplicate site. They ignore the duplicate no matter who it belongs too.

I can't see them turning down a "how to train your beagle" site,
just because you have a "how to train your Terrier" site.
This is assuming both sites are succeeding with their own original content ant back-links.

      .
Not with private registration and no adsense/webmaster tools they won't.

  • Negative.

The only way to protect yourself from Google "knowing" is to make no cross link references, make no ownership references, and to register through a proxy service then host on different domains.

Google is just software. They don't care unless you are breaking a rule in their algorithms.

Statistically, have you seen people using google analytics get banned all of the domain? I never heard any of it.

One thing I noticed about Analytics is it's direct relation with the main SE and how it affects the rankings.

I uploaded a 40 page site with Analytics installed in all the pages and I found that the pages with the highest amount of traffic are indexed firstly although the whole siye is not indexed.

My intention in this thread was to talk about the SEO and dominating a keyword (and the page #1 results)...

I always produce backlinks and backlinks to these backlinks. This way I get those results quickly. Sometimes I can see my pages climb from page #8 to #4 within a few days!

    Thank you guys!

Unfortunately that doesn't answer the OPs question. If you need to keep your sites separate for whatever reason (say you are interlinking them and want to maximize the linking power), Google certainly can tie sites together based upon Google Analytics.

If you want Google to lump all of your sites together, then use Analytics. If you don't want Google to lump all of your sites together, then don't use Analytics.

        Tom, great post. Thank you.

Is there any similar alternative to google? I've used statcounter previously but maybe someone has experience from an alternative?

        Thanx

My take is why take the risk of using a 'free' product from a large corporation that's well known for having significant issues when it comes to privacy and data collection unless your site is directly doing business with them via Adwords or Adsense.

I've thought of this for a long time. I don't put related websites in the same google accounts at all...

Patchworks, so you have separate emails for every domain? What if you have 100s of domains... ?

Is there any alternative that is NOT linked with google in any way? but deliver almost similar analytics information. (important for me is the bounce rate and stay time on my sites...)

I would love to know if there was some sort of solution where I can see all my sites at one glance (sort of the same as in the GA).

    All answers highly appreciated...
