As far as i am aware they are not a scam site i think they have a facility in place to stop people sniping sites right at the end so as the auction is getting close to finishing and someone places a bid the auction ie extended by 4 hours i think so that maybe why the sale is like it is.If you have a look a Flippa's TOS that should explain why.

I have used Flippa before, there is no bid sniping within the last four hours of the auction. This is there TOS to avoid people putting bids at the last minute. If there is a bid put in with less than 4 hours to go is the timer will be reset back to around 1 day remaining to the auction ends.

I think they have a rule for sellers to extend auction period?

WSO: I PROMISE/GUARANTEE you that this will be the LAST WSO you will ever need to purchase!

Here's the thing. The above may seem too good to be true but all I can say is there isn't even 1% hype or BS in the above sentence. This WILL BE YOUR LAST WSO to purchase.

No Flippa do not allow this - that would be unfair to buyers.

Flippa is not a scam - the 4 hour rule is there to help both buyers and sellers. As as buyer, you don't have the risk of being outbid in the last minute, and as a seller you get the chance to sell for a higher price.

Flippa is not a scam, full stop! When a auction has less then 4 hours left running, if that same auction gets a bid at say 1 hour 15 minutes left, that auction that has just had a bid, now extends itself 2 hours and 45 minutes.

Whenever a bid is made in the last 4 hours the auction extends to 4 hours left. Flippa used to have auctions extend by 4 hours every bid, but now have changed it to reflect the above.

Flippa's not a scam site. There are scam sellers on it, but that's anywhere that selling is done.

When an auction is close to ending within 4 hrs and someone bids on it, it extends the auction by 4 more hrs.

If Flippa was a scam site they would be out of business.

Its ironic how people quickly start shouting "scam" without actually looking at the business as a whole and what they stand for.

thanks for the input.. I just started wondering..
seems a bit unfair to every time extend the auctionfor 4 hours.
who has time to monitor an auction for a couple of days ??

It's not unfair at all.. What would be unfair if they didn't and you have a winning bid and the last second somone bids $10.00 over you and wins it. Watching an auction should get you email notifications. That's kind of why with them it's important to put your best and final bid if you are not going to be able to monitor the auction.

if someone places a bid an auction will be extended for 4 hours, so it can last days and weeks before the auction comes to an end lol

This confused me at first too! It seems flippa has something in place to prevent sniping.

As stated above, if you bid in the last 4 hours then the timer is reset to 4 hours to go. Flippa recently polled its users on this TOS and the general view was that it was a good thing and prevented bid sniping. In reality, most auctions get extended but generally go only an extra few hours.
Also Flippa is definitely not a scam site....it may not be a site for you but a scam it is not.

I actually prefer this, it makes the whole auctioning process a lot more fair imo.

Interesting thread and something we've debated a lot at Flippa. It even went so far that we ended up posting to the broader user community on whether or not we should be keeping the 4 hr rule. The overwhelming majority requested that we leave it as is - which is why it continues today ... hope that helps.

Unfortunately I cannot currently link to it but interested readers can go to Flippa > Blog > Interested in Your Opinion ... (currently 5th down the page). Some passionate responses!

Flippa isn't a scam, obviously, but there are a lot of garbage sites for sale on there. As far as bid sniping goes, it's a great move to not allow last minute snipes because then it allows much fairer bidding across the board.
