Can I get a little IM Niche Love?

Ok, so my partner gets this great deal on some traffic, and they have a multi-level pay plan, which he of course signs up for.

My "Part" in the partnership is to find ways to promote and monetize this stuff.

Only one problem, I've never done this on as highly competitive a product as an IM product.

My goal is to get a foothold in the IM niche, (mind you, I have NO experience in the IM niche, and not much elsewhere)

What I've got so far: domain name: TheTopIMTools.com

I've got a landing page on a wordpress blog, but no articles on the blog, I guess I'll have to piece some together this weekend and spin them.

The autoresponder goes to the business plan on the confirmation page, and that's as far as I've gotten so far.

We've got a great source of traffic, but I want those organic results. Yanno?

So here's what I'm asking. I know it isn't going to be easy to do, and I'm ready for a challenge, always willing to learn and make a fool of myself.

What would YOU do?

What I stand to gain: Commission on product sales, and new rep sign ups.

I dont' know if I should lead with the product or the opportunity. I dont see how the opportunity could benefit anyone who wouldn't be able to use the product (targeted web traffic, email lists, and Search Engine Submissions) but I've been told that in general you lead with the opportunity.

I think that's backwards, but I'm willing to be wrong.

      "Think and grow rich" isn't nuts and bolts for IM, is it?

      I'm not totally new to IM, just have never tried successfully to market in the IM niche. I'm aware that it's a hard nut to crack, and was hoping for a suggestion or two to point me in the right direction.

    Susan, you have an interesting start here. For a start, I'd move the form up under the 'No BS' headline so it stays above the fold. It seems to have a bit of attitude to it which I haven't seen from you before.

    How did your partner hear of it? Product first, or opportunity first? Whichever it was, it worked on him.

    Back in my NWM days, we always approached "tool type" resources with the product first - then pitched the opportunity as a way to get the product for free. We had reps that made more from the lead gen opportunity than the primary.

      James heard about the opportunity first. He jumped right on it because it's only been going for about a week, and they are doing a mass email of 60 million emails, that anybody that comes onboar have to go into the forced matrix (3x matrix) so he's WAY up there, and so will the people we sign up.

      I'm pretty proud of the position he's got secured, I just want to do my part, as well as I can.

      We're really excited, he could be looking at thousands of people dropping into his matrix by sheer luck. I'll keep you posted as to how it goes wit the mailing.

      I think we've decided to use the traffic that comes with the distributorship to send to the other site, (mygroceryprofits.com, how you like me now?)

      hopefully we'll get some more income flowing, and can begin to outsource some of this article marketing that has been kicking my butt lately.
