    This has changed a lot recently and Google has really cracked down on what you can put into your listings. You used to be able to put keywords in the title, description, tags of the business and show up well.

    Now you can only have the business name in the title and not stuff keywords in the listing without running the risk of being rejected. Just be honest with your listing, make it natural and you will be fine when it comes to Google.

    To increase rankings you will need reviews for your biz not only in Google but also yelp, insider pages, etc. Also several submissions to business directories like info USA, yellowpages will help with your ranking.

    Some things you can not control when it comes to rankings are things like location and brand recognition. Here is a great website for local business marketing.
