I Got 382 Optins in Less Than 24 Hours...

Hey Warriors,

I've been experimenting with buying solo ads for the past few days
and here's the result.

382 Double Optins on Day 1
103 Double Optins on Day 2
86 Double Optins on Day 3

I have more than 500 optins right now to my brand new aweber list.

I was really doubtful before I tried it but it turned out to a very good
investment.

Just wanted to share my excitement. : )

For the privacy of the list owner, I may not share the exact cost but it was a little over $200. It was a bit expensive but I made one sale and two other recurring sales from this solo ad on top of getting more than 500 optins.

      Not bad, eh?

Any niche can be made "worth while" if you know how to market and sell. If you know what the markets problems are and what they want, it can be very worth while. Comments like yours make no sense.

Well done, but my concern would be the quality of those 382 opt ins.

I've seen so many people do ad swaps, solo ads etc generating quite impressive numbers of opt ins, and producing large amounts of traffic to their websites.

But when it comes to how much money they are actually making, it is very disappointing.

I hope they convert well into customers for you, but you need to be careful with people who have opted into a list, you'll see what they are really worth when the time comes for them to buy something.

Thus far, I have no idea how sticky they are but from the fact that some people bought my backend products, I'm very hopeful for this list. : )

Those are very good results. I am sure the
readership is targeted to what you are offering
and your AD is obviously good. Congrats, but
like others here have asked, do you mind
sharing MORE about how you are doing it,
which niche, etc - could be helpful to some of

No problem. I guess it all comes down to 3 things.

      1. Your ad copy - most important
      2. Video
      3. Thank you page

I'll explain it a little bit more.

      1. Your ad copy - it's important to grab people's attention by subject line. What I do is I look through every guru's email copy and find something that appeal the best. I look for something that really stand out. It doesn't apply to everyone but it has always worked for me. And also include first name in the subject line. It's a must.

      2. Video - I created a simple video recording myself and inserted into my squeeze page. It took me about 15 minutes because I had to rehearse over and over again memorizing my short script. At the end of my video promo to sign up to receive my free ebook, I said I would take them to a special page to watch a video. This is my backend product or clickbank product to make immediate profits.

      3. Thank you page - I made a thank you page in where I thanked my subscriber for his/her subscription. And I would redirect him/her to my other product page or affiliate page where they would watch a long sales video. This really works.

      Well, hope this helps.

Looks like Joe is using a pretty similar system I've been using the past two weeks to test out my new product. And boy does it work as long as you know how to write decent copy. Here is how simple you can generate huge traffic using only this forum:

    Create squeeze page
Write 7-10 emails with a promotion to an affiliate product in there
Go to Joint venture forum and purchase 4 $50 ad swaps

Simple and effective. I've been doing this the past 2 weeks just testing my sales copy for my upcoming launch and have generated $1500 profit thus far from purchases.

    Steps to take it farther:
Take profit and hire outsourcer to generate long term traffic methods...articles, videos, etc.
4 good solo ads will get you above 500 subscribers and you can go do free ad swaps in the Joint Venture Forum
Take profit and buy magazine, blog, forum, etc ads

    Awesome stuff Joe...keep it up.

You can go to Warrior Joint Venture section. You'll find many there. It seems like the ones with 30k - 50k lists are the most responsive. I haven't tried other niches but if you're trying to find some good number of optins in IM niche, that section got tons.

Are these solo ads in ezines? Looking at my email, I just received an offer for some soloads using ezines. A little skeptical sincce they are scheduled out a little too far in advance if you are looking to increase cash, sales or signups instantly. There seemed to be a 2 month waiting period

No these are not ezine ads. A lot of them are their own list of subscribers and some of them are list builder lists.

Thanks for posting Joe!Very inspiring post!I have no list at the moment and i am thinking in investing some money in solo ads.And i just got a positive review from you.

Yes, surely it depends how well structured is your squeeze page, what are you offering etc but i think that is finally worth the shot spending some money.

No problem. I really had a lot of doubts in the beginning but sometimes you got to take a risk to make money. And it really helps to think it over and structure like you said before sending out your ad. It makes a huge difference. Also it's crucial to pick the right backend product and follow up in your autoresponder series cuz not many people buy it when they see it for the first time. They got to be exposed at least 4-7 times.

A solo ad is just an ad copy that you give to someone who send it out to his list. The link in your ad copy should be either your squeeze page or your product page.

      Hope that helps.

I just did the same thing. I paid about the same price as you. Got over 350 subscribers (its been a little more than 48 hours now) and made 11 sales of my OTO. Solo ads are my favorite list building activity.

The downside is the cost. However, you can find smaller lists and advertise for 30-150 bux and get good results.

I have four more solo ads booked ranging from the Sept. 19th to October 1st.

Here is how I do it:

1.) Prepare squeeze page with OTO. (I normally use this one - Affiliate Marketing Profits 7 Day Crash Course)
2.) Locate solo ad using the warrior forum "joint venture" section.
3.) Send Payment and set a date
4.) Write and send ad copy
      5.) Sit back and wait . . .

Its really that simple. Also, its smart to have more than one squeeze page in case you find a list that is really targeted to a certain niche.

For example, one of my upcoming solo ads is for a list that contains PLR users that get daily PLR articles from the sender. Sooo, what did I do? I got a PLR E-course set up to send to that list for my solo ad --->>> Are You Lost On the Information Highway That way I can get the most value for my buck, plus it gives you another segment or niche for your list and opens up your monetization possibilities.

Also, someone asked bout the quality of the subscribers. From my experience so far for the last few months with solo ads is that the subscribers tend to be more responsive. . . Think about this for a second . . . They opened and read an email and acted on it in order to get on your list! See where I'm going with this? I find these people are more willing to purchase my OTO and other offers.

Bottom line ---->>>> Solo Ads work for me! I recommend you try them!

Thank to sharing re: how to have a good listing. 11 sales from only 350 subscribers is amazing = 3% convertion.

        4. Email Marketing

Congrats Joe for your success with Solo Ads.

Solo ads can be sometimes very tricky to market your offers.

The very first important thing you need is a reliable solo ads service provider.

The price of that service also matters. You have to really know your numbers while sending your solo ads.

Your offer is obviously very critical which makes or breaks your campaign.

But the most important factor here is how responsive the email list is where you are advertising your offer. You need to take into account all these factors and then invest wisely.

I am sure once you master these things you can almost guaranteed your success with Solo Ads.

Ok, so do I understand it that a solo ad is really email marketing. I did a search on solo ads and saw a lot of what lookiks like MLM type stuff the way it was laid out.

Looks like I need to read up on it more because for $250 for an email message im not to sold on it for myself.

Yes, a Solo Ad is email marketing. However, the ones you find on google are a little different than what we are talking about. I don't know any place other than the "Join Ventures" section of WF that you can buy reliable solo ads.

A solo ad is basically just like an ad swap. Butttt, you send nothing to your list, but your "Ad" gets sent to a bigger list.

Really what this amounts to is you are paying basically $0.20 to $1.00 per subscriber depending on your ad quality and the conversion on your OTO.

I've noticed I usually run around $0.40 cost per subscriber after my OTO sales. However, consider this an investment in your business as you should be able to easily earn $0.50 - $1.00 a month per subscriber. So with this theory its a good investment ;-)

But its only a theory. Make sure you research your seller before purchasing a solo. Good Luck!

Here are some I have used and can recommend: Charles Mutrie, Holly Sutton
Also, I have an opening for a solo ad that will go to 2k plus

I will look on here and maybe try out 1 or 2 for cheap just to see how it looks coming back. Those names you mentioned they are on here?

And when you say you have an opening is it an ad I can place that will go out to 2000 people? If so PM me more about that please

I´ve just searched for the term "solo ads" in google and it seems to be that some websites sell such ads, but do not know if one can trust those sites.

Anyway I will try to buy some solo ads packages tomorrow to see if it really works... I am sure this is a new wave ...

wow this is a great thread!!

I was wondering if anyone could help me out a bit..

I am completely new to email marketing and recently set up an aweber list and fortunately got 207 active subscribers within a couple of days.

Where I need help is my email copy. I have no idea how to write up a good email copy to get people to open and buy my offers.

Any thoughts or materials where I can read to get a good idea on how to use email marketing to increase my income?

    Thanks!!

    Nice job
I am actually in the middle of testing this out myself. Have bought two cheaper solo ads. Unfortunately one went out on labor day and the other was just a bad response (have done adswaps so an assuming it is not my copy)
But good to see these kind of results

    Joe,

Not bad, you got 571 subscribers at about 36 cents a piece. You also got 3 sales just from your back-end promotion as well so I'd say keep pushing offers until you make all your money back and can pay for another solo ad.

I would advise creating a separate list for each solo ad, this way you can promote the same offers to your new list.

If you need offers to promote just send me a pm.

    Kind Regards,
    Sid Poudyal

    Hey Joe,

Good job! And a quick thank-you for sharing your solo ad info. Since you are using the WF JV forum, I assume your target audience is other IMers.

I am in a couple niches that have nothing to do with IM - they really are outside of that market. So how does one find a reliable solo ad service or reach other markets?

    Thanks

This sounds like something I need...I have been setting up and working my site for 5 months now and have only 1 person in my list. Could you please explain to me what a solo ad is and what a sqeeze page is?

      Thanks

Hey, Don. No problem. About other niches, I'm also trying to find out myself. Sometimes people here do have email lists about diet and forex. So do keep you eyes open.

At about 50 cents per opt in, you couldn't really ask for more! That's a great ROI on your money spent on the solo ad mailing (since list size = $$$), even if you did not have any OTO for them to buy upon opting in.

That means subscribing to the list or newsletter ( first opt in) and then confirming it, by responding to the confirmation email (second opt in).
