A couple of newbie questions

Hey everyone,

First post.. be kind heh.

Anyway I have a few questions, all relating to finding a good market to target:

1 - How can I view traffic for sites in a market when Quantcast has no information on any of them? I want a way to see if a niche has any interest or not.

2 - How can I find good products in the Clickbank Marketplace to market? I can't seem to see sales numbers on the page, just price. Am I missing something?

3 - Any other ideas for finding a good market? Or maybe ways to rule out bad markets?

Thanks for the help,

Cheers, Dave.

    Dave,

The best way to market is by targeting the people that are already looking for you! You want the people that need to be convinced to buy your product or opportunity. There are thousands of people that are searching for what you have to offer, those are the people you need to be targeting.

    1. Use Google keyword tool or market samurai and check monthly search volumes on applicable keywords.

    2. search here in the forum regarding gravity score and clickbank in general real value to be found.

    3. Very broad question... but adwords ads give you a decent indication because if people are paying money they are generally making money. But yes much more to this question than can be answered by me but you have found warriorforum so your answers will come

    A. If you are serious about this niche, consider running a test ppc campaign using their site as the url since you don't have a site up I am assuming. The idea is to get the exact impression count so that you will know what kind of traffic they are getting for a particular keyword.

This brings up the next question, Where do you get the keywords that a site is target. You can use Market Samurai's( free trial) competition research module and do a custom url. It will tell you the number of time a site has for each anchor text, which is very cool because now you know what keywords they are going after.

The other service that I would recommend is keywordspy.com, they have a limited free trial, but every powerful since you will know what the competitors is running ads for. The theory behind this is, if a site is paying for an keyword over a long period of time that means they are making money from it.

2 - How can I find good products in the Clickbank Marketplace to market? I can't seem to see sales numbers on the page, just price. Am I missing something?

I had the same problem when I first started. Again keywordspy can help with this. They have a complete section that tells you which CB offers are being advertise for the most so that you can determine the ones that are making people the most money.

You can use cbengine to get info on CB offers too. Very useful site.

3 - Any other ideas for finding a good market? Or maybe ways to rule out bad markets?

The general idea is if the keywords are too expensive from a PPC point of view, you should stay away because it will be too expensive too test various keywords.

There will be people that will disagree with this thought and say that you can get free traffic via seo and social media. What you need to keep in mind is that SEO and social media takes a lot of time and/or money if you are going the outsourcing route.

For a highly competitive keywords it can take months and countless hrs of link building to get on the first page of Google, and some times after spending months to get there, you will find out that the traffic estimates given by Google/wordtracker/keyword software were not very accurate. ( this has happened to me) .

In summary, test run an project using adwords to determine if the keyword is getting real traffic before anything else. This will cost a little, but will save you a heap of time and heartache later on.

    Hope this helps.

A great tool for you to invest in would be Micro Niche Finder. Sounds like this software tool would assist you in all the questions your asking. Honestly though...if your a serious marketer the time will come when you really will need either Micro Niche Finder of Market Samuari....both excellent applications
