Need some guidance

I am wanting to get into the website flipping arena. I am ok at building wordpress sites, and am familiar with the basic plugins (the ones that you usually see on flippa sales) I am a newbie and I have been overwhelmed by all the ways to make money and all the offers and programs that are out there. So I am going to stop moving around and focus on the website flip thing. So, if someone has exp. in this area I would greatly appreciate any advice, do's/dont's and all the other things that would either make or brake. (things such as transferring the websites, what makes a site sell better than the ones that don't) Thank you for the help and info, it will be considered a blessing.

    Website flipping evolves over time. Startups used to be popular if well designed with unique content. That's mostly over. Emphasis is on sites that already have traffic and revenue, so keeping them a little longer is a better way to go than just putting together a blog to sell immediately.

    Premium themes, some good plugins (buy a developer license for these) are the norm. You can sell ugly sites if they produce revenue, but a nice looking site adds to the value.

    Having a list, a Twitter page with targeted followers also add value to the site.

    If you want to flip sites then you need to find that one thing that makes your site worth the money you are charging. Some of the things that would make your site more sellable would include

    Original content
    Good traffic figures with low bounce rate and high unique visits
    Revenue - even $10 per month from Adsense is better than nothing
    A unique product - maybe an informational product you have created yourself
    Aged domain
    Original design or template
    Original, premium or paid plugins for blogs

    Obviously you don't need all of these things on the one site but I would recommend getting at least one of these elements in place before you sell

    you either have to make sites making money, or have domains with good potential, like exact match. the latter is domaining. if you can make sites that you can monetize, then why flip them. figure out how much you want to make per month and build out enough sites to meet that goal.

    Good advice here, but I disagree with the view that startups don't sell on flippa anymore. Just have a look at flippa's just sold section. There are people killing it with startup sites, selling them for $150-$397.

    Trouble is, these site are more often than not garbage when it comes to making money for the buyer.
    They are just slapped together, "pretty" looking sites, with no SEO value at all.

    If you want to start flipping sites, it's all about Buy.Build.Sell

    Buy - start with either buying an existing site that you can renovate, or start from scratch and buy a new or existing/dropped domain

    Build- Build some value into your site. Traffic / sales

    Sell- Sell it on either flippa, forums or direct to people in the market your site is in

    Of course there are things to learn along the way, but it's simple, repeatable and it works
