Whats the Deal with 7?

Hey could anyone tell me the theory or idea behind using prices like $37 or $107 or $17. Why do all of you product owners choose that price? Why not $36 or $600 or $20?

Looking forward to some awesome information,

Caleb

I think it has to do with the fact that most people associate the number 7 with being lucky. That's really all there is to it!

Nothing much. But a little (to a lot, it varies) effect on the
    mentality of a buyer.

You could also go for a 9.!

I ve read somewhere that works better for the potential buyer.Number 7 works better for his eyes.I ve heard the same for number 9 as well. When you read the price and it;s 39$, your eye drops at number 3 first.39 is one step from being 40.But again you think that is cheaper because you read 39.

Have you ever wondered why we have prices like 39.95$ and not 40$?It is a marketing trick.

I do agree with you. My eye falls right on three and overlooks 9 lol.

The deal is, ending price points with a 7 usually converts better than any other number which is why people use it.

Not always though, in some markets on my tests I've seen 29 convert better than 27, 79 convert better than 77.

Ending price points with a 5 sometimes beats both.

Testing is always the only way to know for sure, and not make assumptions.
