Is having matching keywords in your domain any good for broad match searches?

Hi guys and girls

I was wondering does having certain keywords in your domain name help with broad match (not exact match) searches that contain that word. I know this question has been asked many times before but I am asking specifically in regards to the broad match.

So for example would having a domain like mikesreviews.com help with a search like "laptop model 4567 review"? I appreciate it probably won't make that much difference and that on page seo and backlinks are much more important, but all those other ranking factors aside will it give it a "bit" of a boost? Or does it make no difference what so ever unless it's an exact match, assuming that you think it helps with that. Is having matching keywords in your domain any good for broad match searches?

    Certainly not. Because search algorithms have been more focusing on providing the results with high relevant and users specific interests. That means if you have one of the words in your domain that is being searched by the user and it doesn't have the relevant content/information, Google will not place it in the results for that search.

    However, the only struggle is people normally don't find domain names with their target keywords or words that matches to their targets. If you find such matching names available, you can go for them.

    Exact keyword match in the URL makes a huge difference - both for Broad and Exact searches. But it won't help with something as broad as the word "review" in "mikesreviews". In that case you would be better off with a "long-tail keyword" in your domain name such as http://www.laptopmodel4567review.com

    Before registering a URL (domain name) do a Broad Search (no inverted commas or brackets around your keywords) in Google and note the number of Results. Then do another Exact Phrase search (keywords in inverted commas) and note the results. If there is a huge difference AND if the Exact Search is giving Results of less than 20,000 (say) - you'll have a good chance of getting your URL ranked high in the SERPS (Search Engine Results Pages).

    Hi,

    I would have to say that it is better to have the keywords in your URL for any search.

    Broad match searches still work on the same principles and exact and if the keywords in your URL are backed up with on page content then you are on to a winning combination.

    I would always recommend choosing a URL with 1 or 2 MAIN keywords as these can still become part of either search Exact or Board.
