How to Make Your Blog More Readable.

The title of your post is just as important as the content. You have only a few words to capture the reader's attention. So make it good. The headline should pull the reader into the content.
Your content should be well researched. The last thing you want come across like is false. That it why it is important to choose a niche that your interested in. Trust me, it is far easier that way.
Make sure that you read over your work before publishing. This is something that I am guilty of not doing on occasions. I must practise what I preach. Right at this minute, I know everyone is looking through this post to find errors. They will be there.
Another useful tip is read your written work out loud. It helps to see if it flows correctly. You want to make sure that everything you write sounds professional.
Keep your posts to a reasonable length. People have amazingly short attention spans. If you have a lot to say make sure that there is plenty of white space, or make the post into two parts. If you post one part today and say that the next part will be tomorrow. This can be a good way of bringing back readers.
Help make your blog more interactive by answering every comment. People want to be involved. It is important to be heard. When you answer they will come back. This also has the added benefit of encouraging others to do the same.

Kind of funny to look at your subject line and then the formatting of your post...

Whichever application you're using to type them out before posting here, try adding an extra line feed so there's a blank line between paragraphs. Makes your posts much more readable...

Now that I've taken my poke at you, I'll sort of disagree with answering every comment. I try to answer every comment that makes a legitimate point or asks a legitimate question. If the comment just says something with null meaning, like "nice post" or "thanks for sharing", I don't want to clutter things up by posting my own null-content "thanks" or "you're welcome" answer.

    Other than that...

Good post, thanks for sharing. :p

100% agree! Formatting is very much part of your post! Breaking the text into paragraphs (with blank lines in between for the screen) - i.e. easily readable chunks makes a huge difference.

Thanks for the tips, Andy. Many of them seem like common sense, but many people tend to overlook the little details that can make their blog great instead of good.

The most important tip? Always, always, always write for your readers and focus on giving them the best experience possible. Do everything you can to engage them and keep them coming back for more. If you have great information coupled with great writing, readers will take notice. As they do, so will the search engines.
