Inspired by ROBOTS - Killer Marketing Formula

Hey guys

I have been away for a week and enjoyed some time with my kids.

As always we raided our DVD collection and I was subject to watching a ton of family movies. Anyway I don't know if any of you have watched the Pixar movie Robots but there is a main character in there who is an inventor called 'Bigweld'.

His catch phrase throughout the film was 'See a need, fill a need' ... which got me reminded that a key to our success as internet marketers is by actively looking for problems that need solving and then offering the solution. Simple as that!

Now this gives us plenty of scope. With this concept we can either create our own products or even just point people at other peoples products through our affiliate links.

Anyway to summarise

PROBLEM + SOLUTION = MONEY

I am off to watch Camp Rock

    John,

I really liked your post, I think you hit the nail right on the head when you said that PROBLEM + Solution = Money. I think that is something that a lot of marketers forget from time to time. That in order to offer a solution there has to first be a problem. Marketing to people that don't have a problem that needs the solution that your offering will not make you any money. When marketing you need to reach out to the people that have a problem that you can offer a solution to.

Very true. Some people think in the reverse order:

MONEY = SOLUTION... + PROBLEM? WHAT PROBLEM?

I've been guilty of it myself in the past -- coming up with cool 'solutions' just because they're cool even though they don't really solve any problems that need solving... But common sense tells us that if there's a problem and we can solve it with a solution we could earn something.

    We should ask ourselves:

    1. How much work does the solution require from us?

    - and -

    2. Will we earn enough money to make it a worthwhile undertaking?
