Default good domain registrar?

IE: not godaddy.

Preferably someone with a high tolerance for potentially offensive material and a deep respect for the right to free speech. A similar host suggestion for the long run would be helpful.

If you're curious as to what kind of site I'm making, it's mostly political, and we all know how it gets the blood boiling. I don't want my domain stolen (like godaddy does sometimes) or my host to crap out on me because I offended them on some pet issue.

For a top of the line secure registrar I'd have to recommend Moniker.

I use namecheap, which is priced a little higher usually than godaddy but comes with whoisguard (which protects all of your personal information such as name/address/phone number) included in the price.

I agree with you Sean. They don't come any better than Moniker. I use them exclusively. They also have a toll free number is there is ever a problem.
