By using a gmail account it makes it seem more personal by the subscriber.

      Hello,

Do yourself a BIG BIG favor and don't use any free auto responders to build your email list. What would happen if you worked really hard all year and had a list of 5,000 and all the sudden the company disappears? All of your leads would be gone.

I promise you that in the future you will thank me for this small tidbit of advice...

      Really.

Thanks for that, It's Hard to think like an Average Internet User Sometime's,
by just being as aware of so much.

for example I always see yahoo < Most likely it's Spam
Gmail < Someone more Net savvy,Marketer, Someone better at Spamming

      Hrm Personal, Thanks for that

Google is one of the best email clients out there. But I agree with Skid_Roe. It seems more personal and acts as a better marketing tactic.

Personally I use a yahoo account cause it's easy to access from my mobile phone. It's far too much trouble to add the emails from my own domain on the phone. That way I can promptly respond to emails from my subscribers (I'm not on a computer most of the time)

I use gmail for the same mobility reason. I can manage multiple accounts from my iPhone or iPad while not at a desk. In fact, in typing this on my iPad from a coffee shop on the beach.

I create 1 master gmail account and then forward the individual accounts for each list to that account. Almost like my support email. It means I can keep track of all incoming mail in one place but I can reply from individual accounts.

Several reasons why people will use gmail.
#1. It is the most reliable email service.
    #2. It's more personal.
#3. It is easier to use software with if you are trying to automate sending massive amounts of emails at one time.

But how about the 500/day outgoing emails limit on Gmail?
I am not sure about it though.

This is when People are Using an Autoresponder, the Autoresponder will say the Email came from your Gmail Email Account, So your Gmail account isn't actually sending out any emails though.

True...and the company that is doing your autoresponder takes care of making sure that you don't get blacklisted. Hope your free autoresponder takes care of that

There's another concern, aside from the idea that it may (or may not) seem more personal. Google has great spam filtering, as webmail systems go. Using a Gmail address cuts down the spam, and keeps the reader comments and responses all located in one place.

One of the biggest reasons I use Gmail is because of the spam filtering. I get quite a bit of responses back from my subscribers when I send out emails. It's very rare that I see anything spam-like pop into my inbox.

What's cool about Gmail now is that they have a "priority inbox" feature that cuts down on spam and unwanted emails even more. It's definitely worth looking into.

People have covered my two main reasons:

      > I use the gmail address as the reply-to address, so I get the built in spam filtering.

      > I can access the gmail page from anywhere.
