Promotion Ideas for Squidoo Lens - Suggestions Please

I have a bunch of Squidoo lenses I want to promote. Aside from article marketing, SEO and the occasional Facebook/Twitter mention, I don't know how to get traffic to my lenses. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Squidoo lenses aren't really that different than regular websites. Many methods that bring in traffic for a website can be used for a lens. I see you're a War Room member. Browse through the messages there; you are likely to find traffic techniques you can use for your lenses.

YouTube is another way to drive traffic to your lens.

Create a video about your niche, and put up an annotation that says to check our your lens for part 2. Then put the link in your description.

    Michelle,

Have you considered using other platforms, to write similar, shorter articles that target similar keywords? Not only can you drive some traffic that way, but you can also create backlinks to your Squidoo lenses. Unfortunately, those who don't fully know or understand how Google 'works' and choose to use sites like Squidoo in isolation, completely neglect the importance of backlinking. What you have now are alot of high authority sites, wit each individual writer's lenses or articles achieving search engine superiority simply because of the inherent pre-established authority of the site. Just because a site ranks high doesn't mean it will always rank high, especially if someone attacks a high ranked article, with next to no backlinks, with an agressive backlinking strategy.

I guess I went on a tangent slightly....lol.....you can drive some traffic by creating those backlinks, and they will incur your articles/lenses some benefit, as well.

Also, some will disagree with me on this and call it spam, but you may consider posting an article/lens link to a Facebook group or page. IMHO, there's a thin line with regards to SPAM, and it's a matter of approach and the reception of the audience. For example, yesterday, I wrote an article about how Golf courses generally determine the "par" of their golf holes. I proceeded to post it on a golf facebook fan page. Rather than delete it, they actually thanked me for providing beneficial information. It all depends on your approach, and knowing the audience.

    Hope that helps.

If those lenses are related on the same topic, then be sure to link them to each other. Also, pick good tags for them, as this helps get you links from other lenses.

There are some good lens directories around, like www.Lensroll.com and www.Squidom.com. Submit your lenses there for free backlinks.

Oh, and syndicate your Lensmaster feed too...
