If I'm to ask for information about something by posting a request on my blog (Google blogger), is it safe to include my email address in the post, or would it be better to include a URL and have a webpage set up to act as a "contact me" interface?

I should check on the blog to see what I can do within the blogger's protocol I guess, but it's just that I'm more familiar with directing people to a webpage, or my email.

Thanks

Well, it's safe if you want a bunch of spam...

There are a ton of programs that scan the web for email addresses... if you don't want a boat load of spam, I would not recommend putting your private email address in the public eye...

Yes, this is the way to go, setup a contact form that hides your email from potential spam-bots.

  • Don't do it - you will end up getting spam. I use "contact me forms" created through mycontactform dot com - It is handy and free.

Use a form, or at least obfuscate your email so it can be easily read by humans, but not by software. You can use an image of the email address, or separate it out with spaces and "at" instead of @

    Hope this helps
