Need a bit of advice!!

Ok, let me start by saying this forum is amazing. So much information. I do however have a question that I hope some of you can answer. I have a few blogs/sites that I would like to start to attempt to monetize, 4 or 5 in total, but have a few questions before diving in. 1. For blogs, what is a good number of articles to have already there before attempting to monetize, whether by adsense or some other ad programs. 2. As far as traffic is concerned, what are some of your experiences with flow of traffic? did it take forever? was it as easy as some say, where you just get as many quality backlinks as possible from high rank pages and forums? or was it painfully slow? 3. What kind of daily visitor numbers would I need in order to live comfortably of these 4-5 blogs? Im not looking to get rich quick, though wouldnt be opposed , just looking to supplement my day job so I can stay home with kids. I have been told by a few that in order to come up with about $100 a day in ad revenue I would be looking at about 10k visitors a day. Is this close, spot on? I do know however it does depend on your keywords and quality of rankings. If I could pick someones brain that has been successful it would be wonderful, for now though, I guess this is a start. Thanks for taking the time to read this, and I appreciate any help

I would load each blog up with at least 15-20 original articles first. Then I would take those articles and use a service like "Spin Distribute dot com" for back links and traffic. I'm not an affiliate of this service but it's been a real game changer for me

PS: You can monetize those blogs with CPA, Adsence, Amazon or Ebay affiliate ads

I'm surprised that you would need to worry about it. Sounds like you're doing quite well with the forex trading according to the site in your signature.

    Hi Scott,

Please, your post is disturbing my eyes. As for your questions, everything boils down to your niche and its competitiveness.

You can add adsense to your blogs. You don't need to have many articles before monetizing them. Even if you can post a high quality article a day, adsense will automatically appear on every page of your blog. Maybe you don't need to monetize all of the blogs at the same time. You can do it gradually unless you have time to add quality contents to all of them regularly.

Posting quality articles to directories can help you with a good traffic. These are directories like Ezinearticles, articlebase, buzzle.com, Goarticles, etc.

I notice that most internet marketers would require 5 articles a day on their blogs. You can do that for each of your blogs too. Once you have a weeks worth of articles, you may want to start using adsense on them. Remember to keep the blog updated. One resource I read stated that search engines love sites with lots of contents and increase their traffic (that's why article directories and others have high page ranks). If you'll notice some of the prominent bloggers, they update their blogs every hour or less.

You'll get your result with this and other traffic-boosting procedures. Perseverance is the key.

    sprks79:

Assuming you have a decent eCPM, it would take 100,000 views to make $100, of course depending on your design and article quality, and niche, but while some people brag of making $10 per 1,000 visitors, this is something that only HUGE sites seem to manage properly. For good content sites, I think the average is somewhere between $1-2 per thousand, and for other types of sites, it's about $1 per 10,000 (unfortunately).

There are always exceptions to this rule, but from what I've read, these figures seem to be the norm. If you can make $100 a day from AdSense, you'd be doing better than 99% of everyone else (or have a TON of traffic).
