What percentage of duplicate content is acceptable, using DupeFreePro?

What's a good goal in DupeFreePro in terms of an appropriate % of duplicate content found between an original article and a rewrite?

It's on the default of "Minimum Length Of the Mathing Parts" = "4 Words"...and the best I've been able to do so far is 55% Duplicate Content Found using easy article rewrite.

Is that good, bad, or about right?

Or maybe I should be using some other software or service to check the dupe percentage...what is the standard out there?

DupeFreePro is good free alternative to Copyscape for checking duplicate content.

Your 55% duplicate content is really a bad sign... and you need to make it at least 20% or less.

The less duplicate content is always better for obtaining reliable search engine rankings. You always need to focus on getting 0-10% which will push your mind hard to reach that figure and your content will be more unique because of this mentality.

It depends what the content is being used for. If you intend placing it on your website then I will go for 10-15% duplicate content. But if you intend submitting to an article directory for backlinking purposes then I will submit the article as is, without rewriting a single word.
