Creating incentive for affiliates

I am looking for some advice for a product that I will be putting out someday (mods please note there will be no mention of the product type, availability, or requesting people to purchase my product).

With that, I want to host my product on clickbank or ejunkie.

However I would like to give something away to my top affiliate or something to create incentive for people to promote my product.

Is that within their TOS or would I have any way of tracking that information?

If that is a poor route to go, what would you recommend other than a high aff % to entice affiliates to promote my product?

Thanks!

I find it silly that when people try to create real discussion and ways to improve affiliate responses that no one responses, but when someone "MADE $50K in 3.2 seconds" writes they respond 100x.

I'm not bitter, or anything like that.

This isn't my area of expertise, but I will include a 2 tier commission structure. Where affiliates receive a comm for the sales they generate, and if they refer other affiliates to your program and those affiliates make a sale as well, they will receive a comm from the referred affiliate sales.

In that way you kill 2 birds with one stone.

Instant commissions is a great incentive - Rapid Action Profits offers that.

I'm currently revamping my entire business online using that software (it's a huge part of it). In addition, I'll be sharing 'how to' affiliate techniques that are under the radar to my affiliates as well.

Always ask yourself - how can you help your affiliates profit? Now, 'profit' doesn't JUST have to be about money - it could be in confidence, in shortcuts, it could be in growing their reach, etc.etc.etc.etc.

You just have to think outside the box.

The most important factors by far are (1) quality of your product and (2) your conversion rate -- and your ability to clearly demonstrate both. A high commission is of course a good thing, but if your sales process doesn't look convincing you will only attract the so-called "newbies" as your affiliates.

If you haven't yet got the "basics" down, the top affiliates aren't going to give you a second glance - and there's not much fun in giving out a prize to a bunch of people who can't sell your product anyway.

I should not forget to mention that in some markets (1) clearly doesn't apply

A good quality affiliate center is a must. Think of it this way:
Go to the WSO section and you will see people making tens of thousands daily selling information on how to promote products.

Now, imagine if you invested in a quality affiliate center that:
    a) gave your affiliates this info for free so they know "what to do"
    b) but a rock solid offer (your product) in their hands so they know "what to sell"

Alot of people spend tons of time recruiting so called superaffiliates but the legions of untapped newcomers are over looked.

So a) an affiliate center will put you in the top 1% of vendor affiliate managers

I would also throw in b) contests and c) promo tools. A couple of banners aren't enough. Create a list of keywords. Not only that, create some ads for adwords or facebook and put it up there. Create some content that they can access.

We'll be coming out with a tactical guide shortly that is basically a braindump of 10+ years of orchestrated JV on behalf of Fortune 500 companies and how we are using that to attract affiliates and JVs.

There's very little training on this area despite the fact that leadership is a key to exploding your sales as a vendor. While 2-tier commissions, lifetime commissions, great converting offers are nice and all, money isn't everything!

Almost every top selling Clickbank product has an initial launch contest.

I saw one that was like 5k Cash + a Jet ski or something recently. So combined value like 11k, but you needed 200 sales or something as well.

Go look at the marketplace in clickbank and look at the top selling product's JV pages, you will see their prizes.

Usually it's something along the lines of

    1. 5000 cash
    2. 2500 cash
    3. 1500 cash
    4. 1000 cash
    5. 500 cash

Or free products like ipads and iphones.

Wow - that is some great incentive. Do they do that through Clickbank though, or their own system?

      Thanks!
