My Idea For A Service To Warriors.

Effective Warriors understand the benefit of outsourcing various tasks - mundane or otherwise. I'm making this post as part of my research into the viability of setting up a business servicing the needs of Warrior Forum users.

The rough idea is to set up a "one-stop shop" website where Internet Marketers (newbies and experienced) can order products such as excellent original quality articles on a variety of subjects, as well as services including Wordpress installation/theme creation, article submission, graphics (headers, logos, business card & flyer design etc), link building and other SEO work, plus whatever else may be in demand. One of my businesses is t-shirt printing, so this would be on offer, as well as a range of other "offline promotion" resources. Imagine a site where you can order a couple of coffee mugs & t-shirts printed with your website logo, as well as a logo, some business cards and a link building campaign all in one transaction. An iconic, reputable well-branded website where you know you can always go to get these types of things. Selling perhaps "gimmicky" items like coffee mugs and t-shirts could be a nice little earner alongside the more serious business stuff!

There are lots of people out there who provide these services individually, however I want to offer the benefit of making a wide range of useful services available all from the same office here in the UK, servicing clients worldwide. The whole business would be operated entirely by UK native English speaking staff, all capable of writing good quality articles and producing and overall excellent quality of work for the prices I am considering charging.

Reputation will be paramount to the success of the business of course, so I'll need to take into account factors such as the quality of the work produced (obviously) but also be careful not to get over-booked, so reasonable lead times can be maintained. Efficiency will be key.

So, my questions to readers of this post are:

1. What services would you like to see at this site, if the project does go ahead?

2. Are you aware of any similar sites already in existence? What do you like/dislike about what's on offer?

3. Any tips/pointers? Do you think this idea has "legs" or am I dreaming again?

Not a bad idea at all - but you are self limiting if your target market is composed only of the members of one forum - even one as large as this.

I think this would be an excellent selling point for offline services where you provide not just a website but a wide range of promotional products for the business.

I've seen several individuals offering various services and there are some outsourcing team providers that do the same but I don't know how wide the range of products is for those teams.

As for "tips" - the weakest link is the weakest provider you use. Providing top level quality means every person involved in the outsourcing has to be quality. One bad egg or lazy provider can hurt your rep quickly.

    Good luck with it.

    David,
Before I start, this is just my opinion and my intention is not to put you on the defensive or to squash what you are attemping to do. (nice start, huh?)

In my about 5 years doing this, I have never purchased a t-shirt or coffee mug with my logo on it. Not completely true, when I started my first eLearning company I did buy one of those starbucks mugs where you can place a photo inside of it and I did put my company logo there. (it was all ego and not really for marketing purposes)

I get all of my business cards and other logo type printing done through a well known online company because their prices are dirt cheap. The quality is good too, but it is because it costs next to nothing to get.

So, for me, this extra service you would add to the other services would not make your company any more desirable for me.

As for the other services, I generally go for cheap outsourcing to complete or do it in house. So again, it really just comes down to price.

From the perspective of one warrior, I don't know that having all of these in a one-stop shop would be enough to entice me to use the service. However, I don't see that it would be a deterrent either. For me, it all comes down to value.

Now, to turn this whole thing on it's ear...

Instead of offering this service to online internet marketers, why not go the offline marketing consultant route? Start working with brick and mortar businesses and do ALL of this for them. No muss, no fuss, no worry. No matter what it is they need for their business, David and his army of marketing minions are THE go to guys!

It can be done. With the exception of the coffee mugs, I have sold all of these services to local businesses. (even shirts)

    Good luck,
    Scott

Thanks for the input, guys. I'm still not sure what to do, but I have plenty to keep me busy in the meantime. Thanks again
