Keyword Elite - dead?

What's up with Brad Callen's 'Keyword Elite'?

Tried reinstalling it on a new PC, it doesn't seem to recognize my email and just says "OK" but without loading.

Brad's website is still there but if you click the purchase link it says Clickbank is no longer selling it due to violation of their polices, though it doesn't say what policy.

So the product is dead then?

Seems like their having server issues, at the moment. Since its 3:45am EDT, they might not even know what's going on yet.

I'd give it a little time before I made too many assumptions.

Not sure. The last I heard he came out with KE 2.0, which ended the "Free Lifetime Updates" for the original KE owners.

Ended up losing interest in his software after that incident.

Side Note: Was able to get to the CB cart page without the message you spoke of... hard to say what's going on.

    Well I'm getting "IMPORTANT!

This product is no longer for sale or has been disabled due to a terms of service violation"

    https://ssl.clickbank.net/order/orde...l=KeywordElite

I didn't want to buy the thing again, I was just wondering how much money I wasted on it.

Ah, I'm looking at the search result, with "index2" on the end. Let's try without that..

$97 apparently. Yeah, that cart is working.

    Thanks Bing!

Software still isn't working though. Their help desk says "too many connections", which isn't encouraging...

I used the default search bar in IE8, ie Bing, first result

Keyword Elite Software | Keyword Research Tool by Brad Callen

It doesn't give a vendo ID, just the 'violation' message mentioned above.

That can't be good for Brad's business. Then again my software not working isn't good for business either...

I just tried to launch KE2 on my computer and I get this message:

"Cannot verify your license. Some features of the software will be disabled."

Yesterday I was trying to get into their help desk and it wouldn't accept my password. I couldn't get in!

    :-Don

[edit] I just tried the help desk again and now I get this message: "Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Too many connections in /usr/www/users/linkmetr/bradcallen/support/includes/functions.php on line 428
    Too many connections"

Mike, yes that vendor cart is working, unlike the software.

I tried to login to other Brad Callen's sites....database errors everywhere!

I wish Brad comes around and be aware of this issue...it seems to be a problem of his servers...

SEO Linkvine says 'Down for maintenance' and has done since yesterday. Whatever problems these are I'm sure Brad and his team will sort them out. I wouldn't get too concerned for at least another day or two.

Something similar to this happened with DLGuard once when Sam's site
was down. I'm not sure, but I think he made a change since then so that if
the site DOES go down again, DLGuard will still work.

But you'll have to check with him on that.

As for KE, I don't use it much as I don't do a lot of keyword research, but it
is a handy little tool. I can't imagine it suddenly being in violation of CB's
policies, but I guess we'll just have to wait until we hear from Brad to find
      out what's going on.

I am sure that there is a logical and reasonable explanation for all of this.

I just got into KE2 and it gave me an update of the software.

Earlier when I tried, I was at home and couldn't get in from there. I'm at the office now and got in fine.

I still can't use the help desk. It keeps telling me I have an invalid ID or password.

    lol... Guys,

    1. The server crashed this morning. It's been up since and everything is fine with all sites. When the server crashes, yes, other sites on our server will go down. Do I like when that happens? Definitely not, and I'm sure our web host knows me by name, as much as I am after them on the phone. Everything is fine now.

    2. The Clickbank "thing" that Alan is talking about is where he's using the wrong URL. That's a default Clickbank message that appears when someone enters an invalid payment page URL. Has nothing to do with our product.

    3. Don, your comment relates to the server being down. Same as #1 above.

    4. Bary, trust me man, I'm aware that all of our sites were down this morning. When this happens, I don't learn about this stuff from the warrior forum :-P The second anything is down, I'm the first to know, and the first to contact our web host.

Anyway... nothing was ever wrong with KE and Clickbank. Nothing is wrong with the help desk, and nothing is wrong with any of the others sites now.

You guys can now enjoy your Friday, and weekend :-P

    Thanks

I have two servers, in two different locations, for this reason. Setting up a simple backup site for verification is an expense that needs to be paid if sellers insist on calling home for verification.

And if that verification can't be reached, then the software should function without verification until verification can be fixed.

I don't believe in punishing paying customers at the expense of the thiefs and there are cheap work-arounds. Managed VPS are less than $50 a month and verification is light-weight work. And honestly, "my server went down" really isn't a valid excuse in this case.

That's irrelevant. When a paying customer is guaranteed more potential problems than the theif, something is very wrong with the business model. Unfortunately it's something that's all too easily accepted in the world of software and should always be challenged.

As for Brad's software, I don't use it so my comment isn't aimed at him, but in principle I wholeheartedly agree with Kurt.

I've got a couple of Brad's products and one thing I can say is that he is very good about customer service.

Yes, the server crashed and I agree a backup verification server would be great, but who in IM hasn't had a server crash?

P.S. Not sure if the market samurai quote has any relevance to the topic either.
