Need warriors' feedback - audio added to my sales page

Hi everyone,

After one week of Google PPC testing, my sales are not satisfactory. Loads of clicks, not enough sales.

I was advised by MANY of you to add audio. I've done this on a test page and I'm really hoping for some feedback.

Please visit this test page. Audio will play automatically. If you like it, I'll add it to my main sales page (see sig file). If I get enough feedback to change things, I just might follow your advice again!

Thanks a TON.

Loads of traffic on this forum ... I'd be grateful if some of you could post some feedback on the audio that I mentioned in my above post. It would brighten my Saturday after losing money on PPC for the last week.

    Very good audio ...

Sorry to critique but when you use the letter 'S' in your audio, it kind of echoes and gives a feedback. I would re-record on a lower volume of the mic or try cleaning the audio file with audacity or camtesia. That should do the job.

but overall, the audio is so well done, it will be a big plus on your site. Voice, Navigation, information ... all is great.

This is my feedback. While I agree with the others about it being good... it is too long. It should be shortened to about 60 seconds. So trim the fat, and it should be good to go.

What is the link to the original page that didn't do so well?

    Chris,

Hi. I really liked the audio. I don't have kids, and it still got me thinking about buying. I think you've done a good job with sound production--clear, good volume, good balance between voice and background music, and the voice is easy to listen to. I couldn't give my opinion about whether to use it or not without actually seeing the complete salespage. It also occured dto me that the audio might work well as a voice over for a video.

    Hey Chris,

I LIKE IT! I have an extensive Persuasion & Influence background, myself. I think the recording will be very effective.

I would only change one thing. I would reword the sentence:

"Now I know you won't want to buy this program...". I realize you finish the sentence with "unless you genuinely feel I can teach you something of value", but I would find a way to state it in a positive way.

It really jumped out at me as I listened.

    But, otherwise, Good Job, Man!

"I can" is much more important than I.Q.

blokh - thanks for the feedback. I didn't notice the sibilance through headphones but I can always use a notch filter to de-ess the sound. This usually shows up at about 6KHz.

JJP - appreciate the "trim the fat" concept. My wife says the same thing. I am collecting all feedback for a "version 2" and I will probably just continue to improve it in time.

The original page that is not converting well is the same site, just without the /test subdirectory. It's in my sig file.

I've now put the audio on my main sales page at Talking To Toddlers: Dealing with the Terrible Twos and Beyond

Thanks for ALL of your feedback, and I look forward to incorporating changes as I execute more steps of my plan.

Just checked it out. I would test the "testimonial" placement. It may look nice on the right, but it may increase your conversions by spreading them throughout your sales letter. I would add a testimonial before each main heading, in a box about the same size as what is on the right hand "testimonial" box, but only one at a time.

It might help the sales letter flow better and keep pulling the visitor further down the page. You might want to add some purchase links throughout the letter as well.

Curiosity will kill the cat. Even if it doesn't say buy now... some folks will click on it. A good placement might be turning the "guaranteed" word into a purchase link.

Chris: Good attempt at using your own voice for personalization. Only one criticism.

Give visitors to your site the option of being able to start the audio manually. I've never seen audio work when audio starts automatically on a site.

It frightens some people who don't know their speakers are turned up all the way. They may be in their office and not supposed to be online and all of a sudden a big burst of audio fills up the entire office. Anyway, it's just not a very good idea to have audio start automatically. please trust me on this one.

Scott - I can definitely make it manual. I will try this and see if it improves things.

Does anyone know of a way to track how often people play the audio file? The plugin simply calls up the MP3 file, so I'm not sure how tracking would be accomplished, but I'm interested in knowing what % of visitors play the intro.

Scott - I've done what you suggested, and I also changed the color format of the audio player to match my site. Thoughts?
