Need help with ranking a blog up high on Google

Hi,
I have found great keywords, started a blog with 3 posts, but what I am stuck with is: what steps to take to make sure that I am in a good position to rank higher on search engines like Google? I want to learn a step by step system where I can do this properly and effective. Please help me out on what main things to consider and start with.

You will need to keep finding other related, high quality keywords to keep expanding your content.

You need to start building backlinks to your blog posts. This can take the form of articles in article directories, blog commenting, forum postings with signatures, social bookmarking, video on YouTube with links back to your blog, etc...

Try to find sites with higher PR, preferably relevant to your niche, and work to get links to your site.

Now, back to the beginning... Do you know the strength of your competition for the keywords? You can do research and determine how many backlinks they have, where they are coming from, and have a very solid idea of what you need to do to outrank them.

Learn and Google about On-Page SEO and Off-Page SEO.

You will need to find how to drive traffic to your site.

What you are doing is a process and it won't happen overnight especially if you are bootstrapping your company or blog.

What I mean with bootstrapping is if you don't have a good amount in capital to hire professional, you will need to do the work yourself and learn the best strategies.

Have you done research on keywords you are targeting?
    You need to:

    1. Check the traffic coming for each keyword using google keyword tool.

    2. Check for the competition itself. If most of them have PR 2 and below you have the chance to beat them.

    3. Check for your competitors backlink. thus you will have the rough idea on how many backlink you have to put up.

    4. Then action start. Optimize the onsite first, followed by the offsite.

Probably no one here will write the whole thing. Either you need to join some good training or find out by trail and error.
