Am I Dooming My Site With My Home Page?

Okay, so I'm building my WordPress site and I have a few articles on there, each with it's devoted page. I was a little confused over what I wanted on the homepage, since the site is a collection of articles focused on a small niche.

I decided that I wanted to have a small summary of each of the articles on the homepage, so I started to work on that, but now I've realized something. It's almost impossible not to mention the same set of words (the subject the site is about) over and over again in the small article descriptions that consist of just a couple sentences each (really, they're like ads with links to the articles). So then I started wondering if the SE's would see that as keyword stuffing or something similar and penalize my site for it.

Do you think that could harm my site in the search engine results?

If there's any chance of that, then I want to go with another approach. What do you girls and guys usually do? Maybe I should just make "Home" one big, really good article. The only thing is that I wanted to point to quick, targeted solutions rather than hand someone a big article when they first arrive.

By the way, I'd rather not show the site, as I don't want to reveal what markets I'm getting into

I think if there is a natural flow to the copy that a person could clearly understand you should be fine. Keyword density does play a role, but if you have lots of other content throughout your site, I wouldn't worry too much. Just like the keyword "post" or "thread" is present in lots of forums, yet they do fine, so should you so long as you aren't doing anything wacky.

I believe your intention is good.. do not overdo the keywords on your home page. Articles are on your sub-pages so it should go well with the onsite SEO.

The best way to attract visitors are to have good content and good review of your site.
