INTERNET MARKETING

Hi everyone,

I'm not very technical... so I'm trying to edit my ecover and logo using Gimp, but I can't figure out how to change the text once I load the file in Gimp to save my life!

When I click on the text, it doesn't let me select it.

Does anyone have any tips?

If it's in JPG or GIF format you're not going to edit it. If it's in PNG or PSD you can edit and change it though...

If you are using the .psd file once you have opened it up in gimp press ctrl+L to see all the layers.

You can then select the text layers and alter them.

In order to change the text in an image, the image needs to have been saved in layers with the text being on its own layer. Once the image has been flattened, you can no longer edit it.

When designing in GIMP or in Photoshop you need to save your work as a layered image first, then flatten it and save again as a flat image. A .jpg is flat. A .pds file can be saved as a file still in layers or can be saved flat.

Here's another suggestions: f*ck gimp

Use Paint.Net. It's much more stable than gimp (especially on windows) and much more intuitive GUI.
