Any blueprint for traffic to blog in a medium competitive niche?

Hello there,

I have very recently joined warrior forum and I must say that this site is full of experts..

I very recently started a website, infact a blog on a market which I can say to be medium competitive..

Can some experts give suggestions or blueprint on how can I generate traffic to my website through SEO? I know backlink is THE KEY for good seo rankings, but an overall strategy on building backlinks and some other effective techniques to generate traffic can really help.

Do proper keyword research. free wordtracker and google keyword tool are two free options. I use both combined.

Make sure you setup the blog to ping everytime you publish.

Submit your RSS feed to various feed directories.

Submit your URL to various directories, especially directories specific to your niche.

Try to get other website owners to put your link on their website. If it's informative, they just might. If you have to, provide a return link...but only if you have to.

Writing articles is great for an immediate trickle of as well as future traffic from backlinks increasing your search results & people publishing your articles on their site (hopefully).

Bookmarking your blog posts. Many people use Socialmarker to make this easier.

Make informative replies to questions on Yahoo Answers and leave your link in the resource field.

Put your links on wikipedia. I think they're currently nofollow, but I still get traffic from people clicking my link from the external resources section. However, the people over there may remove your link quickly if your site isn't...
