vBulletin Plugin...WSO Style

Does anybody know which plugin the Warrior Forum uses in regards to WSOs, Classifieds, etc.?

The one where someone submits a new thread and waits for approval. Once approval is granted, they're given a paypal link. Once they pay, the thread automatically goes live.

Is this a publicly available plugin, or is it something that was custom coded?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Lance, I obviously haven't a clue what the WF uses, but I'm going to bet it's custom coded.

Have you searched for these types of plugins?

That's what I'm thinking too, Rob.

      In the process.

Just got the vBulletin publishing suite a few days ago. Still trying to get acquainted and find all the extras I want/need.

You can use the "paid subscriptions" deal. Not sure if it was standard or an extra from the vbulletin mod board. It links with your paypal account.

I use it and it works fine....and it notifies me instantly that someone paid then I know to go to the particular section of my forum where the listing is posted and I can approve it so others can see it. Works good for membership stuff too as you can have it change the members titles which instantly allows them access to private areas.

        Kinda hard to explain.

But I don't know what the WF uses, most likely is custom or something customized from an existing hack.

Thanks, Keith. I noticed the "paid subscriptions" tab, but haven't played with it yet. I'll definitely check it out. It sounds like that could work for what I'm wanting to do.

I've been interested in vbulletin for my sites forums, because I love the WF so much

However, I've heard some god awful horror stories about it breaking, version 4 or 6 or something is just jacked up...

    What do you guys think?

I've only had the license for a couple of days. It was intimidating at first. Then I realize I was just being a wimp and dove in. It seems very robust and pretty user friendly. At least I haven't broken anything yet, and I've been clicking on all sorts of stuff in the admin panel.

We looked into this for our forum several months ago. The issue, at least at that time, was there are some solutions out there (see the VB forums), but they exist (at least a few months ago) only for VB forums running versions 3.XX. That is, there is no good script for the standard new VB 4.XX forums.

Perhaps that is why WF is still on 3.XX.
