What are peoples personal experiences with using autoblog software on blogs as a means of making money? is it worth it?

Some might disagree but I believe autoblogging is a great way to earn money online. As with anything automated, it requires quite some time until you see results. It also requires a large number of blogs on different niches.

I'm using Blogger, own hosted Wordpress blogs and wordpress.com blogs.

    1. This is my setup on Blogger. I thought they would close one's account if there were too many complaints on one of the blogs within the account. So I only have 2 or 3 blogs per account. Total number of blogs is around 30, spread over 12 accounts.

I know about their Tos not allowing autoblogs. I'm using WordsPay as it works very well with Blogger, I set it up so it'll post just once a day to each blog. BUT, I'm also manually logging in and posting one acticle per week. So, automation posts affiliate offers, I'm posting some original content.

By doing that and using bookmarking tools I'm getting good traffic to my blogs which leads to sales, sometimes great sales.

    2. If what you want is to post articles, rss feeds ect with autoblogging plugins, I don't do that on Blogger. I'm using own hosted Wordpress blogs and wordpress.com blogs to do that. In this case, I'm also posting one more-or-less unique article per week per blog. Also posting youtube videos on such blogs, articles from article directories, content from RSS and Yahoo Answers, and for all that I'm using Multipress Lite, which is free. As for affiliate offers, I post em up with the same WordsPay which also has a free version.

As for affiliate programs, I mostly use Amazon but also a few others. I'm always using long tail keywords and so far so good, they're working.

Please note, I never had a problem with Blogger. Wordpress.com however deleted a few blogs (I have over 20 inthere as well). Hope this helps.

I'm with Scott on this, especially point 2. If you try to build a gang of blogs on blogger.com you WILL be disappointed. Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your internet career...

I suggest jumping in and getting your own experiences.

There's gigs on fiverr.com that will completely set up an autoblog for 5 bucks. Do some basic back linking and see how it goes!

One of my competitors ranks number 1 for the search term I want so I took a look at all her backlinks. Over 900 links and almost ALL of them were autoblogs. No other commenting allowed and some even had the exact same posts.

So, it does of course work for some people....but i so hope she gets sandboxed

I think auto blogging is great for adsense but that's about it. Duplicate content isn't that good, it doesn't rank well on search engines. Although, I think I may be wrong because you can still make money with affiliate marketing or else with an autoblog. The internet has became very saturated in different niches, there is a lot of duplicate content. I've written a review about a clickbank product and some of my content is on reviews i've seen. Rewriting is powerful.

I don't like autoblogging. I've tried it. At one time, I had about 80 autoblogs running. I never made more than $5 a day from them. You are dependent upon Adsense and even worse you can lose your account for autoblogging. You more than likely won't lose it until you are making substantially more money, which makes it even worse. Google seems obsessed with user experience and autoblogs generally provide a poor experience. I never really pushed to make the venture a success though because I always feared getting booted from Adsense.

OUCH. You should NEVER try to monetize your autoblogs with adsense. Apart from the fact that for most people it's an unaudited chump change opportunity, if Google take against you they will use your adsense id to tie all your blogs together and band everything on one go. Bloggerhigh has some advice on monetizing autoblogs - the best way to use them of course is as PR boosters / traffic pumps to your real money-makers.

I agree with the last post, do NOT use AdSense on autoblogs, or atleast don't make it the only income source.

As I already mentioned, I'm using Amazon, CB and a few others and so far it works good. It sure beats the few bucks a day I've seen others in this thread make.

As someone else already mentioned, you can do alot with autoblogs, just read my first post and grab the idea from there. Beside posting affiliate offers on my autoblogs, I also have links pointing to my "main" blogs, blogs that always get manual updates, unique content + affiliate offers (automaticaly via WordsPay or manualy, it really depends on the offer). It is NOT enough to have a link to your main blog on the sidebar but also into posts.

Now you made me say everything. Well, not everything but close. Main thing is that this combination makes good money.

The key to autoblogging, as with practically any other method of making money online....or making money at all....is about having the right tools and using the right methods. There are a lot of people that have a hate on for autoblogging simply because it didnt work out for them.

If we all stopped doing things, or trying methods just because SOMEONE ELSE wasnt able to succeed with it....would any of us still be working online?

There are many ways of autoblogging that do not work, but there are also many ways that do. The main issue that I see with this, is the fact that many people want to use autoblogging to point and click their way to money and expect it to happen right away.

The vast majority of them give up within a month or two after seeing less than impressive results. If you really want something to work, you NEED to put time and effort in, and stay committed for a lengthy period of time.

Sure autoblogging is meant to save you time, effort, and money, and allow you to scale up quickly...but it isnt a make money overnight solution or an instant answer to money problems.

Dedicate yourself to it, find the right advice, use the right tools, and give it time to work rather than jumping ship after 2 unsuccessful weeks.

Nobody gets to the top without making a few mistakes. In internet marketing if all you go by is hear say you will not get very far. You need to try stuff for yourself and see what the results are.

And about getting into some black book , nobody gets to the top without making mistakes, the key is learning from them.

Autoblogs do work if you do it the right way, the key is to have a good mix of content from various sites. That way your site looks more like a content syndication site as opposed to just a replica of another site.

For example if pulling content from an rss feed, don't just use one rss feed , Find at least 4 (the more the merrier) different feeds and mash them up into what i like to call a super feed . You can use yahoo pipes, dapper feeds , html2rss to create a single feed out of mutiple feeds. I have autoblogs that run on over 100 feeds.

Also try to make single posts pull content in from at least 2 different sources.
This depends on which software or plugin you are using.
I use WPRobot which allows me to pull in content from 18 different sources and mix them up in a single post. Although i only use about 3-5 on a single post. (It sometimes takes several hours of tweaking to find the right mix but it is well worth it).

An example of a post on my website would be

Amazon product or any affilate product with the price right and buy now button under it.
followed by a relevant video from youtube.
Followed by a relevant article from article base (resource box left intact)
Finally just in case they got distracted by the video and article a large image of the affiliate product and buy now button.
Also Reviews of the product are added as comments .

If you create your autoblogs in such a manner your site will provide value to readers as it be a niche site where people can find content .

A good example of an autoblog that works is Shopzilla - Comparison shopping online this is a site with an alexa ranking of 1,800 and Page Rank 6, Guess what it is nothing more than a giant affiliate autoblog. All it does is pull in titles and description of affiliate products from thousands of sites and presents them in price comparison format.

also look at google news, google news syndicates news from hundreds if not thousands of website. Lots of people flock to google news to get the latest news, they do not care if the content is unique or not , they go there because there is loads of content from different sources.

You will need to promote and drive traffic you autoblog as well. Build backlinks etc. Social media marketing can bring you a lot of traffic if done right.
You can use Ping.fm / Update all of your social networks at once! there are plug-ins you can use to integrate your autoblog with ping fm so every time a post is made , that post will be syndicated across twitter, facebook, wordpress e.t.c

Read up, learn to use the various plugins, learn how to S.E.O your site and built quality backlinks or if you can afford to outsource it.

It is really too bad that people think like this, and that false information has created this mindset.

      Google against autoblogs??

What do you think Google News is????

Just do it right, give credit to the author and proper link love.

Getting content from different sources would be a good idea. Typically you can dominate ranking with autoblogs. The idea is to have lots of them without needing much maintenance and each bringing some traffics accumulating to substantial sum.

I've been into different trends..from MFA, parking, review sites and now auto-blogging. The key here is to get traffic and not to get banned by SEs. Think of an auto-blogging script that allows you to add your own content and make their pages SE friendly. From different types of script I studied, I decided to create my own. That way I can change it when I see something that could potentially harm my business.

I have tried so many auto blog plugins it would make your head spin I LOVE WP-Robot, not only does it do EVERYTHING it says it will do, it does more and their support is top notch.

If I had only 1 tool to keep it would be WP-Robot.

It's great to see a good thread on auto blogging, it is absolutely my favorite form of blogging and earning passive money online.

Hmmmm...not sure where some of this information comes from about Google not liking automated content but that is simply not true.

Auto blogging is the same as any other on-line business except that you have tools that can help you be more productive and add more value for your visitors.

    Happy Auto Blogging!
