Article Marketers: Social Bookmarking everything leads to spam punishment by Google?

Hard to find conclusive data on this, some warriors believe you want to limit social bookmarks to a certain number a day, or week, while others say to bookmark literally everything you do always.

If you're doing say 3 articles a day to 5 different directories, and you've got 20 social bookmarking sites you submit each of those articles to, that total equals a whopping 300 bookmarks a DAY (3 x 5 x 20).

Is it like RSS feeds where you can blast out as many as you want or is there a limit that shouldn't be surpassed?

Thanks!!

bump, no one has been sandboxed for too many bookmarks? Hmmm...

Maybe this would get a better response in the SEO section, probably more targeted that way.

Hi Catherine my opinion is this: why would you get sandboxed or penalized? I don't think you would. My logic is: if I could personally get my own site punished by too rapid links, then wouldn't I (in theory) be able to also spam my competitors links (make THEM look like the spammer? (get their site 'boxed instead). What might happen though is the links you've built simply wouldn't "count" (or possibly just count for less link juice than other links that appear (in google's eyes) more organic. I've tested spam commenting, and the saying "quality over quantity" seems to hold true in my eyes.

I post links everywhere bookmarking, social sites, artical directories, etc and my ranking has only gone up. The only way I think that would happen is when you post links to a lot of unrelated topics or link wheels, or link farms.

Well I got gun shy because a recent WSO about article marketing talked about limiting social bookmarks to some sort of "3 per day per article" limit. But it didn't make sense to me (as you guys have said in your posts).

Even if you're doing 20 articles a day or something and bookmarking each of them to 20 sites, (a total of 400 bookmarks!) why would the big G consider it spammy?

Thanks all, confirms something I figured was more myth than reality.
