What do you mean by movie site?

    Selling DVDs/Blue Ray discs?

Or allowing people to illegally share copyrighted material?

Its pretty saturated. And also there aren't a huge number of relevant affiliate offers except for Netflix.

A website where you post external links where a user can watch it online.

I have a site that offers movie reviews. Basically, it is for a niche that is very narrow. OK so my traffic is slow and sales are slower even. This is not the best area.

Well, you can offer DVDs from amazon. Also, place adsense ads on your web pages.

I wouldn't want to be the guy spending all that time and money setting up a site like that to be served with copyright infringements suits from all the major studios...that's just me though.

I agree, too much risk not enough reward.

Are you talking about viewing copyrighted movies online, whether external link or not?

I would be VERY CAREFUL about linking to a site that could be questionable. I looked at a site where you can download movies for a small fee. While watching one movie I watched someone walk in front of the screen. In other words it was illegally being filmed!

It is a pretty good website complete with a copyright policy which stated "We believe that filmmakers should be paid for their efforts otherwise they wouldn't be able to bring us these great movies" I think even a smart teen would realize that isn't a legitimate LEGAL copywriting policy. Then I discovered that the company wasn't based in the U.S. but in the Cayman islands

My point is be careful because if you are based in the U.S. or another country that has strict copyright laws you may be liable by having a link to a suspicious site. Just look at what happened with the music industry lawsuits.
