pdf creator, prof features and free

Hi,

Just came across this lil piece of software for pdf creation, did a test and looks good:

Create PDF | Free PDF Creator & Converter | PDF24.org

i usually use acrobat... but this covers many of the basic features.

even has different compressions, so it claims to be able to print for book quality.

what you don´t have is dynamic pdfs and stuff like it.

Several features of PDF24 PDF Creator

Merge and split PDF
Extract pages from a PDF
Copy pages from one PDF to another PDF
Integrated preview for easy PDF editing
Secure a PDF (Prevent from unauthorised opening, printing, etc.)
Set PDF information such as Author and Title

Do you happen to know what the difference is between downloading the version optimized for personal use and the one optimized for business use? I couldn't find that out in a quick look around, although I could have missed it.

      Hello All,

I did an extensive search on PDF creators a while back.

You'll find across the net many Free PDF printers, creators and converters.
However most of them will add a link or some kind of watermark in all new created PDF files.
They also don't include Hyperlink support and therefore your links are not clickable from inside the PDF.

      One Option: PDF Printer
But I found one that's free, works perfectly well directly from inside MS Word as a plug-in and as a PDF printer.
It's free and no reference to the site is included to your PDFs.
The only thing is that it requests you to upgrade to the Pro version every time you use it.
If interested, you can find it here:

PDF Printer - Free PDF Converter PdfPrinter.com

I have used it for some time and it works well.

      ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Other Option: Microsoft Office PDF Add-in
Also Microsoft has now created a PDF support for all its Office programs.
This means that you can now create a PDF version of any file created with an MS Office program by way of "Save as PDF".
You just need to download the add-in program and install it.
MS Word and other MS Office programs will recognize it when in use.
Here is the link with information and download link from MS website.
Download details: 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS

      Great Success To You All,

      Jeanne

I didn´t see any documentation about the difference either. Just downloaded the business one, and it is fully functional. No links or advertising...

I haven´t found my way around open office completely. It does the basics, but the finishing is not that good. If you are doing a doc for yourself it is ok I guess... but when you are in the service business, you have to be careful with the details.

thanks! but it is not my product. Just giving a heads up.

Open source and freeware are "buggy and proud" by nature almost...

      but so far so good.
